I'm guessing the cambelt snapped - in which case, get it fixed and back on the road. ________________________________________ '98 Nile Blue 306 GTi 6 |

Can we have a "Dead 6/Rallye" register to see the rate at which these cars are slowly being wiped out?________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

It would appear from the thread in Parts For Sale that the aux belt shredded and cut through the cambelt cover and chewed the cambelt. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

No, the cambelt didn't snap, the Aux belt shredded itself, somehow got sucked in through the cambelt cover, caused the cambelt to jump teeth, and bent valves. I dont have the time to get the head rebuilt, i just need it off the driveway ! Visually the cambelt looks fine, no stress marks etc but the timing is badly out so yeah game over ________________________________________ Team Phase 1 Diablo GTi-6 DEADSaved from the scrapyard Now Being returned to scrapyard.. |

Brand spanking new and he's gunning it?! I wasnt referring to your car exactly. Just ive noticed them being broken for silly things. One was for a bloody knackered clutch for example. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

DiabloDiva wrote: The worst thing about it is it was £10 worth of Aux belt thats caused all this damage Sort of what happened to my 307hdi recently. Auxbelt frayed and some how feed itself in through the cambelt case and the aux wrapped itself around the pulleys. Snapped the belt Just one of those things cambelt wasnt even due either. 700 quid later she was back on the road i had to fix it because is my family wagon. But in your case i reckon just drop another lump straight in it. There cheap enough these days ________________________________________ Ph2 Black GTI6Ph3 China GTI6 206 xsi manstone daily runner (GAY) Ph1 Cherry Red GTI6 307 HDi 110 |
