Don't have money to fix it, but you have money to buy another car? Not having a go, but I think your being a bit shortsighted. A new car could potentially be another money pit then you're back at square one. Additionally, GTi 6's are worth buttons now, even in bits. You probably won't make as much as you'd hope for, parts you thought were worth something will be binned and people will waste your time.

Given you can pick another engine up for £200 - £300 I think this is your cheapest and easiest option Thumbs up

No i dont have the money to fix it or buy a new car, im being bought a new car for my 21st birthday. Yeah a new car could be a money pit, just like if i fix the 6 that could turn into a money pit. At the end of the day its my car and my decision and ive decided to get rid of it. I know what parts are worth and ive listed them well below that, you seem to think im hoping for top whack on everything .. I dont care what the parts go for i just want the car gone. And dropping a new engine in is not the easiest option at all, maybe in your eyes,, the car is going, end of.

So my thinking would be that if you have time to break it by taking off all the parts and faffing around with collection and postage then that is gonna take more time than fixing it.

Best bet if you'd consider it is selling the car as a whole to someone who will either fix it and use it or sell it on etc. even if someone else broke it you still would be shot of it straight away.

Breaking cars is very time consuming.

Sorry to see another phase 1 go though Sad. I've recently saved a black phase 1 at work and literally resurrected a diablo phase 2 as the lady that owns it had more money than sense! Lol

My cam belt became shredded after a loose bolt got in there. Timing was out but after a new belt kit it was a goer. Might be a bit of a tapper though!

I tried selling it as a whole, got nowhere. As it says in the for sale thread it is being scrapped on Friday so any parts wanted before then im happy to take off.
