I know i am last on the input side as i had not seen this thread earlier but i had the same issue's a few years back and it turned out to be a warped cover plate. When it was changed you could see how bad it was.

Not sure it's cost effective but would it be worth asking the likes of ttv if they can produce an organic clutch setup along the lines of this one for the mini
