this Yes

the Helix plate had been making noises, maybe contributed to damage of cover plate?
not really keen for refitting it

not sure what clutch to recommend tbh, i wasnt too hard on my 6 paddle Helix and Sachs Clutch cover.... perhaps the mapping sesh took a bit out of it?
I made it home okay thank f**k

Pictures of damaged Sachs cover

just refitted Standard Luk/Sachs Clutch for now
had already ordered new clutch cable to fitted that too

not sure if Helix plate will be safe to refit Unsure

Hard to see in pics but take it the outer spring has fallen to bits. Possibly the paddle clutch is a bit to harsh of a bite for the cover? Is it a 4 paddle or 6 paddle?
I'd be interested to know how you get on with a standard unit as I may just leave my standard Valeo on there for now. But I do Santa pod and pugfest and a few occasional track days dumping the clutch at 5k so might need a paddle...

That's strange to be honest usually they don't snap the actual cover plate like that but snap the spring that attaches there in half. Same effect though clutch drag.
I've already done some clutch dumping at santapod and pugfest this year lol clutch stank a bit but it took it ok Wink. Imagine it will have a harder job once there's a diff in there and it can't just spin one wheel easy.

Hmm

I have a 4-paddle Helix friction plate in mine with a Sachs cover. Yes

However, when I was high boost I ran a standard Valeo item and it worked absolutely perfectly. Smile
Maybe you should just stick with that Pete/Russ. Yes

I deff would do if I wasn't planing on doing the occasional launch /clutch dump lol. But it's taken it thus far so can't see a problem.

This i hate!

If i ever get some time i might look at getting a custom radaitor made up so i can route the IC pipes in a different way Yes

I know Carl has done it with a smaller IC but id prefer to keep my IC and redesign the rad Yes

That's odd Russ, I had a standard Valeo clutch using that engine you have there and never suffered any slip at all. I would prefer to use a standard clutch now if it were possible as the paddle can be very hard work, however it would never stand up to the torque produced by the current engine.

its slipping pretty sure now Yes

nae fancying having a 360bhp ornament i cant actually accelerate passed 6k rpm

wonder if id be okay to use the old 6 paddle clutch after that clutch covers be rubbing on it unevenly?

I wouldn't recommend refitting the paddle after ANY damage has occurred.

Best to buy new mate. Yes

Maybe time for the full kit helix plate and cover? Think that's what Chris is using in his highboost Rallye?
