Hi all!

Last winter I took a trip over to the UK from Sweden and bought Greenbelts Highboost 6.

At first I thought it was crazy fast but now when I'm slowly getting used to the power I also notice it's a little down on the original power from when I first started using it.

After a run in a dyno I got about 300hp on the crank wich is a little bit to low for my liking as it's a highboost.

I installed an Innovate lc-1 and started monitoring it and got down to about 9.7 afr wich is way to rich.

Does anybody got a clue about what might be the problem?

I was told the highboost should have an 4bar regulator but mine's fitted with a 3bar wich should make the engine run lean?

to be fair sounds like a boost leak. engine is mapped for x amount of boost not enough pressurised air =more fuel than air and rich mixture? when was the traction fluid last changed?Dunno

In my defence it was X (Suspension for ages I.e years) Charger (Y) I haven't really decided when or even if.
I think I know when but it depends on a few things, I'll either sell up for an m3 or charge it and keep it for a while longer.

or a loss of compression within the engine? have you checked the compression of the engine?

I will look for boostleaks and try the 4bar fpr. Hopefully it will make some difference.

Maybe the lc1 is not calibrated properly

Boost leak is an easy one to check up on with a boost gauge.

Lambda sensor could be one to look at as well.

Be interested if you find the fault then put it back on the dyno, was it a hub dyno by any chance?

yes you need a boost gauge, would be better if you had one allready fitted while it was running good, you may see a drop in boost then., it can be a bas**rd finding them unless its deisel and then you can just follow the oily sutty s**t that comes out.
Am I right in saying that the ones running standard ecu don't/cant use the map sensor to adjust fuelling based on the manifold absolute pressure?
if so that could explain why it's running so rich, on mine with the dta management, when I have a boost leak, the map sensor adjusts the fuel to suit boost so it doesn't effect the af ratio a great deal.

I replaced the fpr with a 4bar and did a boostleaktest and found nothing so it is not that I'm afraid.

I recalibrated the lc1 to and now it shows a little bit better afr (about 10-11 now) but I dont know if it is becaus of the recalibration or the fpr

Not really.. All I could feel was that it would have a little more power the first lap before the temperatures went up..

Side-question: What oil/water temperatures do you guys with highboost's get when you push them on the track? Mine gets up to 140c on the oil all to quickly wich is way to hot to be good..

I have a 19-row oil cooler on my super high boost and on track it doesn't go over 100c which is good.

When I had a 13-row oil cooler it got up to 120c on track.
