I think enough paying members have requested this for it to be looked into properly.

Also there is still the issue where old threads are cut off at the point a "£" appears..

Been loads of threads about this, sadly it is not deemed required despite everyone wanting it.

think the £ symbol thing is too late basically because when the old threads were reimported during some sort of change everything after that got lost and not imported Unsure (i think)

Unfortunately, all old threads which cut off after the £ symbol have suffered content loss. We can't do anything to salvage these. Sad

well you could but it'd be quite tedious. you could use the Wayback Machine if it's something really important

did we not take a backup of the original database before fudging it?

if not then that is a really stupid mistake.

if so then it wouldn't be that difficult to import all the old threads and put smiles on everyones faces again.

just takes a bit of effort that seems to be missing from somewhere near the top level...

What's the supposed lifetime of FAQs?

There's some dating back several years ago - quite rightly so! But I'm sure someone from the team mentioned it was set at 5? Perhaps the FAQs aren't being auto deleted?

That is the problem with getting people to pay - they then have an expectation they will be listened to as they are paying for a service.

Autodeleting FAQs is plain daft. There is also a lot of good info in other threads that is very useful. I saved lots of links so I could find stuff again on various topics only to find most of them do not work now.

Can someone actually do something to sort this out please? I'm sure a lot of us paying member would be most grateful.

The best thing you can do is ask Stan to present your feelings to Ash. If enough people feel strongly about it they are best speaking up and then Stan can report back with a response from Ash.

If this thread stays on topic and remains serious it's more likely to be taken seriously.

    Dear Stan,

Could you please ask Ash to look into the auto-deletion problem. I'd really appreciate it thanks, especially as I've just paid up for another year.

    Regards,

    Mik

I didn't think the FAQ section gets auto deleted, there's plenty of old ones still in there anyway.

As above though a lot of the useful info is in normal threads and now people pay surely something could be done to keep it all even if It's archived or something. At present people pay to post to know that there posts will eventually be auto deleted, seems a bit daft and I'm not aware of it happening on other forums I use and they are free...
