The beam can't be off centre so it must be in the trailing arms somewhere ? How can I adjust the camber of the wheels ?
Any ideas guys ?

So I just fitted a rear beam to my 6. Every time I look at it it looks like the trailing arms are set at different heights so I measure the centre of the hub to the arch and its fine. Finally I realise that one wheel is about 10mm closer to the arch than the other giving the illusion of being lower. What's going on ?The beam can't be off centre so it must be in the trailing arms somewhere ? How can I adjust the camber of the wheels ? Any ideas guys ? |

sounds like the trailing arm shaft bearing has collapsed on one side giving it camber.________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

Could it be the torsion bars adjusted wrong as I have done only 100 miles since putting it on.I was told it had been checked and all was ok ! |

To be fair I'd get that checked out mate as it does definitley sound as though it may be a goosed bearing!________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

Dammit. Had nothing but trouble with this beam .If I grab the top of the wheel and shake the car with all I can give it, I don't feel any play any where in the beam or hub. Am I in denial, or could that be good news about the bearing? Don't think I can stand taking it all off again . |

Look at some exploded diagrams of the rear beam setup on these vehicles and you'll get your head around how these things become apparent. You'll probably find when you pull the arm off that the shaft is heavily scored and the bearing is a mess. If it's gone too far then potentially the tube could be oval also - only way to know what you need is to get it off and strip it down. ________________________________________ |

Jord I have read a lot of great reviews of your workmanship and would definitely take you up on the offer if my budget had not been exhausted already.Regrettably I just can't do it right now, maybe later in the year I will be on touch . |

I understand mate. But who is to say if you refit your old axle, how long that will last. How about if I take both your axles off you as px? ________________________________________ FRESHLY RE-FURBISHED GTI BEAMSFITTING AND LOWERING AVAILABLE.
