So i was Just looking through google and i found a saxo with a gti6 engine in the back running RWD. anyone else tried this or know of anyone? Could be interesting to see how well it goes and handles. Would be epic to have a RWD s/c6 engine in something small and light Cool

if all details are considered it can come out nice and sharp:

But I think a GTI6 engine is too heavy for a RWD conversion, and putting all the weight of the engine directly above the rear suspension does not seem to be a good idea. Would not want to drive this thing!

Bike engines are good but expensive. A mate of mine has a clio with a twn fireblade engine in the back and that thing is mental. 0-60 in 3seconds. Its not the best looking thing but who cares!!!

Probably be better turning the engine length ways at the front and have a prop shaft for rwd.

But why anyone could be bothered is beyond me, buying a car that's wheel drive that won't be s**t would be my choice.

It's a good point, that's how they mount the Cossie engines in the 306's just like the Cossie engine is laid out in the proper car, seems to work. A twin engine car sounds fun, but I think to get it running spot on and get it to perform for handling will cost absolute mega money. Yes

I agree ash but 'not amazing power'! 180bhp out of 998cc!! Shock pretty amazing really for a production engine, no torque like you say though! LOL

14R will make 200+bhp and 130lbft of torque with a remap and a full exhaust system. Not massive torque, but not exactly lacking...

Twin engines is all well and good for doing burnouts and straight line runs. With all that concentrated mass in front, and more at the back, the problem isn't so much the balance of the car but more the massive turning moment. A car weighing 1000kg with the mass concentrated in the middle will out-manoeuvre a 1000kg car with the same weight distribution, but with the mass split and concentrated out at the ends.

No wonder these two engined cars cant handle well, when 4wheel drivevcars today have a special diff to stop the front n rear wheels moving at the same speed around corners. When they do cornering is absolutely s**te. Front wheels In a corner move round faster than the rear so for a four wheel drive car to work in bends both front rear wheels have to be able to move at different speeds. This car wont have front n rear wheels connected but im sure both front n rear will move at the same speeds.

Great for the quarter mile.
