If it managed to pull the engine down on the other car it should have been pushing enough current to perk up a dying battery though. LOL

Update. New starter turned up and is fitted along with new battery. It starts perfectly so the old starter must have been on its way out for ages.

The key fob had stopped working so I replaced the batteries in the fob and that also now works.

only thing is the interior clock is still doing that crazy thing it was doing before. I reckon your all going to shout BAD EARTH at me so where should I check?

Thankyou, and thankyou to all of you that have chucked some advice into this thread. Thanks Big grin

just set the time and the clock will return to normal, it does that after battery been removed as the clock resets.

What Buzz said. If you still have issues with it, check the earth by the accelerator pedal.

Glad this is sorted, unfortunately you did end up with two issues, but at least she's running now. Cool

Thanks Stan Big grin

Top tip - one way to make your car feel rapid is to drive your wife's 1.6 Picasso for a few days.

Oh and one other thing, my car doesn't lock. Whenever you uwe the fob or door lock it locks and instantly unlocks. Any quick fix? Thanks again guys

check the wiring in the door shut, they usually have breaks here if it displays that symptom.

Yeah, the door wiring is a b**ch for that, double check everything is shut properly and if it still does it waggle the wiring in the door looms until you find out which one it is Big grin
