Has anyone tried a branch resonator on their boomy exhausts? I was reading a few forum threads last night and a lot of people said they'd had great success eliminating resonating boomy exhaust notes by fitting a resonator to their exhaust. I'm tempted to get one welded in but has anyone tried anything like that on here?

Something like this:

Why have you dismissed the option of fitting a less boomy exhaust system?

Because I like the sound at idle / thrashing it, I just want to cure the motorway boom and this seems like an option that might only cost £80. Also I'm a bit reluctant to start trying exhausts out as it's a bit of trial and error and they're not cheap to try out.
