I picked up the Honey Monster from $oulman's house once. There's been a cankle shaped dent in the floor beneath the rear seats of my car ever since and a buttery deposit on one of the seats themselves that won't wash off, and in fact might be growing.

I'll give you a comparison, my Transit Tipper can carry a maximum of 0.7 tonnes on the back so I doubt the 306 could take much. 2 tonnes is going to be an awful lot of trips.

I managed to take (collapsed) a double bed and it's mattress. Some boxes and stuff when moving house once.

I've also taken rubble.

As long as you don't let the rear tyres touch the inner arch or go too far past the arch itself then it should be fine.

well over half a ton in the of the ZX;

folding 2 ton engine crane
gti6 engine and box complete
large toolbox
a Dan.

23mm torsion bars, not on the bumpstops, but damn close LOL

you have bumpstops though, so just pump the tyres up a bit and you'll be fine Wink

you'll be surprised how much space alloy can take and not weigh that much...

I had a 5 door once which, I folded the back seats down and filled every square inch of space from the back seats to the rear bumper and up to the roof with turf.
Don't know how heavy it was but it was more than 10 bags of cement

Not sure how heavy it was, but I managed to move house (student so only one room's worth) in one trip in my old 106. The car was rammed full everywhere but the driver's seat and the suspension was at the end of its travel.

My housemate is an 18stone American football player. I managed to get him in the boot of my car once when I gave him a lift to the train station. He says he prefers to travel in the boot as he feels safer. Thats probs the biggest thing Ive had in my car.

A copy of every issue of Autosport, from 1981 through to 2009. I seriously under-estimated how much paper weighs.

Yeah it's a crew cab so slightly heavier than a single cab but it weighs 2.8 tonnes with no load and obviously 3.5 is the maximum. Not great for carrying anything really.

A mate once filled up the back with sand and gravel and it was so heavy the brakes hardly worked, I would put a guess of about 5 tonnes in total. The brakes started squealing after that so it went in to get checked out. The mechanic said that never in his life had he ever seen a warped calliper on a transit before Whistle

Well in my old 1.0L 106, i had 14 metres of turf in the back that was expertly van converted by my self and a mate after a few drinks. It was literally dragging the exhaust on the floor!

No but it was still filled to the roof lining and on the bump stops at the back! I dont think a 54bhp 106 was designed to carry that about of weight lol
