I've got all the bits to finish off my beam refurb

I'm wanting to assemble it with new nuts and bolts, not for the bits I need, Peugeot want nearly £90... which I don't want to pay.... sooo

Is it worth just taking all the "Hex Cap screw 12x125 - 90" info and sourcing else where?

Any recommendations?

I went to my nearest Independant industrial hardware supplies place, he matched them all up for me. Cost about £10 iirc.....

If getting from a hardware place just make sure you get the correct grade.

You don't want any stainless steel on the suspension so look for 10.9 grade minimum

I found the lower shock bolts nfp and bolt suppliers dont have them due to not being metric or something. These were for ghe 205 not sure the 306 are the same. Best bet is gonto a local bolt supply shop and take all your old ones in and match them up for new and and make a deal with them for the lot.

8.8 are standard rating but agree while there get 10.9 grade.

All suspension will be 10,9 grade, don't worry Smile

My problem is that I'm wanting to drop the old axle and them bolt the new axle on as it'll be done after work and aligned there and then, so I won't have the time to go anywhere to match them

Which ones do you need?
As I can source good alternatives for most of them including the shock absorber bolts

most if not all the dimensions are shown on servicebox, however you will not find most bolts unless you find a decent specialist, many are weird and wonderful automotive, and peugeot/citroen specific.

IMO you would be better off getting some spare bolts and nuts from a breaker and treating them with some bilt hamber de-rusting stuff, and getting them all plated locally.

or just stop being a trart and re-use the old stuff as there's nothing wrong with that, other than the fine thread nylocs.

Nothing to do with being a tart, as I say, more to do with bolting a complete assembly onto the car rather than f**king around with the old bolts

Fine pitch that's all.

A half decent fixings supplier will have them. Alternatively nylocs in the correct pitch are on eBay for a couple of quid. M12 x 1.25 and M14 x 1.5

The ones for the lower shock needs the right head size, if you use your brain then they are not necessarily needed but easier and OE, plus i think the thickness was an issue too. I bet there isnt many bolt suppliers aaround that do sell pug/cit style bolts. The shoulder torsion bar retainer bolts inc offset washer will have to come from pug/citr.

It's more the shank length that's on the bolts that I'm wondering about getting right. I don't mind buying a few from Pug as we have a trade account, though I'm not sure if bolts would be included.

I'll have a look into it tomorrow at work
