But in fairness I have no clue about how this stuff works,

I assume if i turned up to an exhaust fitters with a Jetex they wouldnt really want to fit that would they?
Some people get funny about that stuff? Or am i getting this wrong?

Other than that the only thing putting me off a jetex is the restriction in the pipe where it goes under 2.5"
so I started thinking about others

I was impressed with the Longlife on the low boost I went in,
But ultimately custom ones are more expensive.. £100 more most of the time, This is to be expected obviously but it's a lot of money i think, especially if you dont really know what the outcome will be.

I have absolutely no idea what to do and change my mind every five seconds on this subject.
So I suppose my questions are,

How easy to modify the restriction out of the jetex
How well have you found systems have been made to you requirements in the past, Do you find they are not too loud if thats what you ask for? If so who would you recommend
Anyone made good power with a jetex and supercharger? Was the restriction removed or still there?

I want a quality exhaust that will not be too loud, flow well and have a tailpipe thats not bigger than 3" preferably less than 3"

If an exhaust is a direct bolt-in, then most independent garages will fit it, I've done this before myself. Don't bother with a chain (Kwik-Fit etc as they won't). However as soon as it's not a standard fit, they won't be interested and neither should you be - most places are just run by fitters, last thing you want is some spanner monkey "having a go" with a welder and screwing it up.

If it's not a direct fit I'd find a company who make up custom exhausts, they'll be well set up with all the materials and skills needed to make it fit for very little money.

So in that case something like a jetex should be fine with most independents, Coolio. Didnt realise that was the case.

Theres a company in cardiff that seem ok, Prospeed they are called, They've quoted me £370 and said it would be set up so its not too loud on the motorway etc.
So i may yet give them a go.

Decisions decisions though. :/

Down your way I'd get in touch with Mike Edwards at edwards motorsport in west drayton, wont be "cheap" but he has many a hot rod world title with his exhaust and chassis and many many race and rally cars, I doubt you could say that for the likes of longlife or prospeed.

All I know is I had a stainless exhaust I put on my old car, exact swap and had come off an identical car. Left it at some crappy Mr Clutch place, came back a couple of hours later and they made me panic by giving me all this "mate we tried, it's all completely different, no way that's going on" nonsense.

Took it to another local indy place, they had it on in about ten minutes. Clearly the former just didn't want to get involved for some reason.

I think ill give him a try welsh, Perhaps he would adapt a RX8 or Focus RSMK2 Cat too...

I am waiting on delivery for my Jetex/Simons cat back system. But honestly do you really think that one little section/bend where it does not have 2,5" will have a huge impact on the flow?? At the price of thoses systems and the poistive reviews i heard about them you can't really go wrong.
I think the downpipe from the exhaust manifold and the actual cat is more of an issue hence why i ordered a ceramic sports cat with the exhaust system for which i'll get a 2,5" downpipe made should be all good then.
I'll get a video of the car once i have it back with the stock exhaust system and one with the Jetex and downpipe Wink

100mm is 1.2mm short of 4".

I have a 4" tailpipe and it fits the valance in the bumper perfectly. Yes

Get the Jetex on and forget about it. You don't have to look at it when your driving the thing anyway and it's the quietest option without going custom made

In your opinion perhaps.

But the majority will agree the 3 inch magnex is the best tailpipe for the rear of the 306Yes

You won't find any other exhaust that is 2,5", so actually ideal for a lb sc setup for 340€. Ultimately if the tailpipe really is your problem ELiot you can always get a different taiplipe welded on

Its still the fallback ( Not much choice is there)

But I think i'd prefer one that Im totally happy with.
Nothing like a Small round tailpipe imo.

Hayward and Scott got back to me (I thought i might as well get a quote)

760 fitted :O

Prospeed was 370

Long life caerphilly was 349

If this edwards motorsport isnt too much more than prospeed i'll be all over it like a rash.

i had a 3" magnex and i thought that was perfect. had a scorpion 3.5" and it was too big. god knows how anything over 3.5" ever sells!

Peugeot sport one doesnt have a mid box though. Or at least the one thats still available doesnt.
