Has anyone had a set of rear brake lines (from the rear beam to the caliper) from Peugeot recently, I called in the other day and the guy at the desk seemed to think that they weren't on the system. I forgot to ask whether he meant NLA or just they didn't show them, I've been on servicebox and I THINK that the part numbers are 4885 34 and 4885 33 for the pair, the diagram is a bit of a nightmare on servicebox.

I'm also after the clips that hold the hoses to the rear beam, if someone can make out what part no these are?

I don't have the tools to make them and since I only need to make these it's not worth me buying it. Don't fancy making a set for me do you? Whistle

can do, I have a decent flaring tool, do you have the old ones to hand?

which type of clip were you after?

the U shape type that slides into a grove? (item 5 below)

or do you have a later car that uses the stainless bent piece with a hole through it and a serrated brake hose end like the front hoses? (item 6 below)

Buy the flaring tool and some pipe/fittings off E-BayThumbs up

You can then bin your ABS and compensator seeing as your car is track orientated and run a single line under the carSmile

Andy, if my mate hadn't told me that he would do them before then I would have. I've now been left in the s**t with no brake lines. BTW I fitted the beam today and it looks awesome, perfect height to what I wanted. I'm just gutted that it's going to get dirty now Sad

That's a different page to what I get on servicebox but I used the chassis number from my car to get it so must be right?

The old clips had to be molegripped out and are in the bin, do you know how much the ones are from Pug off the shelf or will they be a lot more than having a set made?

Where do I stand on removing the ABS with regards to the MOT? I know there has been much deliberation about the new MOT's

How much will it affect my insurance, since I will be using it on the road and will be insured

Remove all the ABS including warning bulb/wiring and they can't test it on the MOT,if its not fitted it can't be testedWink

Don't think I would tell insurance tbh,it didn't have ABS on it when you bought itThumbs up

Grey area, But if fitted from the factory it needs to be present and working from my understanding, Rally car's are exempt from this rule

That's what I mean, I know that anything that is a grey area, if it comes to insurance they just won't pay out on it. They avoid paying out at all costs anyway, let alone if I take one of the most important safety features out!

Grey area for insurance?Dunno

Not for MOT, abs can be removed, you just need to remove it all except for rings on driveshafts or sensors if they are part of a hubYes

It's grey for insurance, not for MOT - as far as the MOT is concerned (at present, although it wouldn't surprise me if it changed) if there's not ABS, it's not testable - end of. There's still a general "brake system unsafe" failure clause which is subjective, but my car has passed a couple of MOTs with the ABS removed now.

Insurance will be a different matter, especially with regards to ABS. No-one can argue that removal of ABS (a safety feature) makes your car less safe and more likely to crash - it's not something I'd want to remove and not tell my insurance. With mine it's fine because I have a race/track car policy which expect things like ABS removal, if you're with a "normal" insurance policy they'd invalidate you in a second if you told them you had no ABS.

Well I'll be going with Greenlight who are going to be my track insurance company aswell so they could cover it, I'll give them a bell about that then, see where I stand and how it will affect my premium/validity
