The car had a light tint on the rear windscreen which i removed with a heat gun at the weekend. Today I noticed my heated rear screen no longer works? Is this a freaky coincidence or could I have damaged the black strips that run accross the glass? Thanks, Tom |

Possibly damaged the contacts while removing the film mate Have you checked the fuses/relays first? |

Yes, it's designed as a series circuit.I would imagine you've either damaged/dislodged the power contacts or broken a part of the 'black lines' on the glass and therefore the circuit is now open. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Any easy fix or will it be new glass time? |

You could try this.First though as said, check the relays and make sure that the plugs on the screen are plugged in and secure. ________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

I need to sort mine out on the 205. A bird flew in the car last year and knocked the contacts off the screen with its elbow. I may try that conducting paint and hope it doubles up as an adhesive.________________________________________ |

It makes a point of saying that it can't be used as an adhesive. ________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

I may try that conducting paint and hope it doubles up as an adhesive. what you need to do mate is get some rear view mirror glue. glue the contact to the glass and then build up a connection with the contact paint. it may take 2 or 3 applications but it does work. but like smegal says the contact paint wont glue the wire to the glass. ________________________________________ 1997 ph1 bianca GTI6 - The looker1996 ph1 Sigma GTI6 - Dead 1999 Red Rallye - The Daily 2005 Nissan Navara D40 - Family car 1968 Mustang Coupe - The dirty little secret Put ya foot down, put ya foot down we'll loose em easy! |
