Car had a suspect head gasket, so we have stripped the engine, head had corrosion damage and fatigue issues. Blank head sourced from Peter T and send to Neil T (Australian Engine Guru) for some love and attention. Decided to do a new block at the same time (old block was decked low and ran a fairly thick head gasket to retain pump fuel). Its O ringed and will run a copper Headgasket fine. Buts is my preference to move to a cometic one.
All stripped rebuild and retained lovely maxi crank and rods and pistons, cam and valves. Flow tested etc. So now a fresh engine with new block, head and rings and bearings.
Engine building software points to circa 250 hp. We will see in a couple of weeks what the dyno shows and then what real world racing shows. But I would be happy with 190 - 200 ATW.

no need to spunk your cash on a Cometic gasket, they're over twice the price of a perfectly good o.e steel gasket.
