To be fair, I was happy with low boost for 6 months then wanted more. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It's each to their own. When I first opened up my low boost I thought that I'd never need or want anymore than that. Six months down the line, I was used to it, and started buying goodies for the high boost conversion. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I think boost is the way ahead, although av always been used to turbos, had a rs turbo with standard 1.6 then put the 2.0 zetec bottom end on to make the zvh conversion then thaught balls to it and dropped a full on zetec turbo in there. All well and good when i was single, now married with 1 child and another on the way im going to make a secret stash for a supercharger fund, the wife will know no different lol or atleast i hope not |

OT, but needs to be said: I've taken a pasting on a few discussions on component quality on other forums and after my frankness on here, I had feared a similar response, but the sensible posts that have followed are refreshing and pleasing.I don't use Sainz personally, but the two engine builders I respect the most regularly do, so I've no issue with them. I chuckled at the pub car park analogy, my closest engine building colleague/friend John Read (JRE) is widely considered as one of, if not the best 4 cyl independent rally engine builder in the UK and the engines we do together have won just about all the championships and usually populate the event podiums (as much about reliability as performance), but his reputation for lead times is every bit as notorious. Like me, he slogs his flippin guts out to get them done, but it takes time to do it right and not just throw them together like Lego. The trick is saying no when you really can't do it, which I've being doing alot of lately and that's often a confusing and frustrating response to a customer's enquiry. |

Youd have to be silly with to disagree with someone who builds engines for a living though surely! Any experience of IASA? Better than wossner pistons? or just as bad I know they are lighter but thats about it.... ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Why does the rev limit need to be upped to 8k if running boost? Has anyone looked into using standard Peugeot rods/pistons on high boost, whether diesel, gti6 or s16? |

Because youd be missing out on a lot of the power if not, Obviously if ypu did the same to standard the power band is well over by then anyway. If you did that i think the engine would last about 5 minutes. There woukd be a lot if heat and the pistons would probably melt/hg would pop You would need ethanol or something to get away with it. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

rev limit goes to 8k due to where they produce the power due to the effects of forcing the air in without any exhaust restrictions.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
