^ negative!!
Only if they remove the ignition barrel chip reader and the unit under the dash , if not it will lock the ecu as soon as you turn the key

It can be unlocked still, by programming the TMS MCU Wink

right so lets get this straight before i sell it to someone, i removed the ecu when the car was running, i was under the impression this would free it up to be used for a 309 / 205 gti conversion

i'm thinking now it'll work for a 205 / 309 conversion but not for another 306 unless it is unlocked, is this correct?

So if you fitted it to another 306 it would lock it and render it useless?

Or it would lock it onto that car and it would work ok?Dunno

    Thumbs up

It will be 100% fine to use on a 205/309!

Coskev- if the ecu was connected to a phase 1 306 all you would have to do is immobilise the car and disconnect the keypad before installing the new "unlocked" ecu.
If you connected it to a phase 2/3 with out removing the box under the dash and the barrel chip reader (aftermarket alarm would be needed) it would lock the ecu again back to the original car it came from so could be unlocked again! If you remove the box and barrel reader the ecu will work!!
Or that's what I believe from experimenting!
