As said on facebook its a shame bud. Please listen to me this time and get a POS car aswell as a 6 even if its just for the winter.

I would say its a write off too but buy it back and re-shell the engine.

Sorry to see this!

I think it looks worse than it is. looks like all the force was in the middle of the rad where it's soft and unsupported.

strip off all the broken plastic and I bet it's fine. The radiator support has survived and the power steering cooler. The only part off the body that would be bent is the very tips of the inner wings where the slam panel bolts to them. Nothing to difficult to bend straight again.

The car's written off mate. My Ph.2 Diablo was written off nearly 2 weeks ago after a woman looking at her sat nav drove head-on into my right front corner. There's no structural damage, only body work, and due to the age and value of the car it was written off just because brand new bodywork and labour at a garage is already far in excess of the value of the car.

Insurers are obligated to use new parts at an approved garage, which is extremely costly.

I got the payout, less the scrap value of my car.

Buying all of the body parts I need, bolting them back on and it'll be back on the road!

Never a nice sight to see and glad everyone is ok apart from whiplash. Do you have an agreed value?

As stated, it will be beyond economical repair unfortunately. How much do you truly love it?? If you really do live for the 306, this 306, and don’t mind paying way over its market value then buy it back off the insurance, use the pay off and your own money and put it in the right hands (ie Carl) and get it repaired to a high standard (that’s Carl CHAMBERS by the way…..).

Your other choice is obviously to look out for another 6 but use snow tyres in the winter months if you use it as a daily drive. Not your fault this time I know but may save the next one?

Whatever happens it’s going to be long winded and a pain in the neck (no pun intended honest)

Very sorry to hear this, as it was a real minter.

I'm with the others on this - definitely don't let the car go or you'll regret it for years (I still regret 8 years later not rebuilding a car I'd sunk an enormous amount of effort into).

There are upsides and downsides with these cars not being worth much. The downside as we know is that insurers will write it off with more than a car park ding. The upside is you can fix it very cheaply by getting another car to cannabalise for parts/shell.

Keep it, buy a tapper for a few hundred and rebuild yours/the tapper with all the bits. Get a P3 and you'll have all the airbags etc.

Hope it all works out for you.

As long as they're still mine to come and get, there's no rush mate.

I'm snowed under with uni work until the 28th, if you'll pardon the awful pun!
I also don't fancy rolling around in the snow putting the car back together so I wouldn't bother getting the bits off yours until the snow's gone either, if I were you. Smile
The snow's even stopped me getting the rest of the damaged bits off of mine, which I was halfway through doing.

I tend to agree with this but even so, a new bonnet, bumper ect plus the airbags it will be a write off.

Jamma unfortunate, I don't even use my car when it snows.

Jamma, without thye airbags going off it would been written off for sure, the airbags will just add to it! It looks to have been hit nice and square which is a good sign, door gaps etc look ok for the pictures, as long as the inner wings arent bent then we can save it!

Strange how I had a Diablo 6 come in 2 weeks ago for spares, so thats 2 diablo shells here if needed!

no im sure it wont be that bad, but if you can get it here or want me to collect it to have a proper look then just let me know.

but as others have said DONT let the insurance take the car anywhere no matter how much they want to, as once its gone from your sight and then written of officailly they will get rid of it very quickly often without telling you and then your screwed if you did want it back.

let meknow what the insurance says and what you want to do next, just give me a call

take a look at my LPG thread mate. Loads of info. I'd do the conversion again. I am able to claim on the conversion too. Likely to be built into the vehicle value yet to be confirmed once an engineer takes a look. Also got my number plate covered as its over £100 to put it on retention if i need to. Pm Will claim that too. Get 6 months car insurance rebate. 10 months tax rebate. Cambelt and Mot was due next month so that saved me a few hundred then. Might end up better off as said if I'm offered £2k for the car then buy it back for £200. I can them sort it out. Be quids in and as long as body isn't bent or anything hidden and damaged I'll keep it. My thoughts are on my Mrs atm. As time is going on her back and neck is getting worse. Will see how it goes in next few days.
