As you all know i am running a D8 V6 engine in my 306. Not a lot info on these to be honest as to modifying, all i can ever seem to find is to get a good exhaust on it, de-cat, filter and remap what should see around 230bhp.
I have herd of Clio V6 cams fitting too what is suppose to make a decent difference but then also read they dont fit. Its hard to find any info as 1 website says something works and others say they dont Dunno

Been looking into maybe some head work and re-profiled cams. Engine will be coming out next week as i have the clutch to do so may as well look into maybe doing a little engine work at the same time.

Any help with these engine would be much appreciated Thumbs up

surely reprofiled cams along with a map should see a gain, youve got 4 cams to profile, i think piper

want 120 plus vat per cam for the 6 so could be very expensive for the gain you might get

Thats the thing like, other thing is anything i do is going to be trail and error really as there is not alot of info on these engine. Only upgrade i can find is the DP Engineering turbo kit what will cost around £3500+

Handling side of things is pretty much sorted now so time to move onto performance now Cool

I remember having a quick google and could find f all aswell.
I would do the decat and exhaust stuff.
Also may be worth finding a way of using a filter that isnt exposed to heat.
Maybe an enclosed cone like a k and n apollo?

Already have decat, straight through stainless middle section into scorpion backbox and BMC CDA carbon air filter.

Just bought spare heads too in case i decide to get some head work done. Thought i may as well buy some instead of getting mine done so i have the best of both worlds. Thing is for the likes of a stage 3 head i will be looking at around £400 each... and there is 2 of them Crazy then i would have 4 cams to have re-profiled so theres another £400+ then would be looking at £450ish for a custom map so all in all were talking £1600

What would a 2nd hand charger kit cost? Sure there would be a way to plumb the gti6 charger kit into the V6 engine Whistle

not offhand, you'd need to speak to a few, but all that "stages" talk screams HiFail... there really isn't any stage, its either port it properly or don't port at all.

yeah ive never got when people sell stuff as stages?
It sounds a bit juvenile and reminds me of need of speed underground LOL
Its also weird because it implies theres pre set levels of tuning for all cars or something...

I was looking at somewhere when i had the saxo, Cant remember the name of the place but thats where i got the £400 from. Would it benefit it much if i just polish the ports so there smooth then just open up the inlet and exhaust manis to suit the head?

It's easier to give customers a certain level at a certain price. Hence a stage 5 GTR locally being 750bhp.

Eddy, stop f**king about with it. Ditch the restrictions in the manifolds and concentrate on making the weight bias further to the rear. Remap is possible, cams are too but very expensive. Tbh you'd be better going d9 on a DTA than cams on a d8. Be cheaper and they are a lot more powerful.

Exhaust manifolds are double skinned and tiny in the downpipes.

May get onto Daver6, he works at aston martin and has access to plenty of tools as they rebuild and machine all the engines they get in so am sure he would be able to sort me something out with the heads for a good price

Explain please? What restrictions and how do i improve them? As for weight there is not a lot more i can do up front and nowhere i can go with my engine as it has already been lifted 15mm, Battery is in the back. The car is now off the road and will be getting stripped and 2 buckets. Plenty more weight saving to be done here and there but will all come in good time

I can do you a Stage 52* pair of heads for the bargain exchange price of a tenner.

*That's the number of seconds I'll spend looking at it.
