What colour is more common to paint your engine as mine is in need of a paint restoration atm

I would go for silver Yes

Black is good as it doesnt show up dirt etc as much, but for that reason makes it harder to trace an oil leak if you get one.

I was thinking of going black and silver but wana do sumit different from the rest like midlifes engine,which does look good in that colour

    Yes, as I say mine is painted black and I like it. I have the head and cam covers painted black as well so it blends in well.

    Suppose your inlet manifold is black aswell or is it a different colour?,as mine is silver but powder coated

    British racing green.

    I've just checked with my nan and this colour is only suitable for China, Nile, Blaze, Moonstone, Bianca, Black, Diablo, Platinum, Sigma, Cossack, Cherry, and Astor Gti's.

    I'll give you a clue. The 'B' is for British.

    Were A-series BRG or sage green left over from painting Spitfire interiors?

    No idea, it was a facetious comment. The colour compatibility is serious though.
    I might have missed a colour or two out of that list: if in doubt give my nan a ring on 0845 GRANDMA. No calls after 8pm please.
