Got through the massive MOT fail list at the weekend so will be blasting up to knockhill in it on sunday as long as the re-test goes O.K.

You mean the two pages of fail? Only 3 advisories tho!

One thin jubilee didn't work but found a stronger wider one which seems to clamp on better, not sure how long it will last but it's coming off after MOT anyway.

It also failed on having a fixed bucket seat so I had to find a standard seat and sliding rails to pass MOT but it meant I had to make new mounts to fit the standard seat because the standard mounts had been chopped out. Hated having to do this as I drilled loads of holes for bolts Sad

I've stopped a s**t load of steering lock so would have to be a massive spacer. Then the tyre would hit the arch.

You can drive to a mot test, but don't think you can drive far.

Have heard of people getting done when they took a detour by a few miles to a motor factors to pick up a bulb on way to mot.

Pretty sure its got to be a test centre in the near area to address where car is registered.

Glad i bought it.
Not planning on doing anything else once it's on the road as it's pretty well sorted and fairly quick but might new a bucket seat for passengers.....and the maybe some thicker anti-roll bars and possibly thicker torsion bars aswell then maybe some gaz coilovers ha! Maybe a few things then.

Right then, as the MOT certificate I posted isn't readable here is the fail list the first time I took it in for test:

1) Drop link dust cover split

2) Tyre fouling gearbox

3) Split pin missing from rear brake pads O/S

4) Split pin missing from rear brake pads N/S

5) Head lamp aim (had a clip missing so light was loose)

6) Rear fog lamp not working

7) Rear fog lamp tell tale not working

8) Drivers seat adjustment not functioning

9) Rear brake pipe insecure

10) N/S rear brake pipe kinked

11) Handbrake cable insecure

12) CV booty split

Which I got sorted over the weekend and it went back in for re-test and came back with this due to the new test rules:

1) Rear fog light insecure

2) Fog light switch insecure

3) Number plate light not working

4) Fog light tell tale not working (it clearly was!)

5) Wiring harness under bonnet loose (N/S and O/S)

6) Clock light not working

7) Fault on dip and main beam warning

8) Lights dip when ignition is on

So if I put car in for re-test two days earlier I would have a car to take to Knockhill!

Anyways, just lots of little stupid electrical jobs to do to get it on the road.

6) Clock light not working

Was this speedo "clock" or the actual clock?
