Has anybody else been watching this? Patrick Stewart was interviewing Sir Stirling Moss and taking a look at his racing career and it was a really interesting watch.

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

Brilliant bit of music at the end, from the film Inception.

I watched this last night. The guy who was presenting it got to drive Jackie Stewarts Tyrrell around Monza for fifteen laps. Reall emotional stuff.

This episode was even better, there's a third one on at some point too.

I thought the bit on safety was interesting. After a succession of crashes, and deaths, Stewart was trying to get some kind of safety precautions in place. It caused quite a stir, particualy from commentators, who were basically saying he was a pussy and formula 1 is a mans' sport and doesn't need to be safe.

I know it goes without saying but the way the cars have evolved, over the years, is crazy. You could tell, just by watching the old clips, that the old cars were death traps, with no where near the grip of today's cars.
You have to have mountains of respect for be drivers of the day, for driving their cars on the edge every race.

You should watch that documentary called "racing:the early years" (or something like that), it goes into far greater detail about the dangers and the campaigns to improve safety. It's quite traumatic in places.

Think it was called F1, the killer years.

Quite emotional stuff, and really makes you appreciate their skills and courage. Going flat out and wanting to win, knowing that each race could well be their last.
