Our old staffie killed next door's s cat. Then over the road's cat. ( Who, incidently, accused me of shooting their grandad with an air rifle!) Then two hedge-hogs. And a toad. She chased a poodle, caught it and came trotting back to me and dropped it by my feet. (It didn't die) it got up and attacked me, I was only about ten, so my dad smashed it over the back with a walking stick, which broke into several peices. (It still didn't die) it then, dazed, ran In front o a car. (It died)

Before I got this done, my rev needle was going nuts when I turned on ignition. Would flicker a lot and then calm down again. Since sorting the CAT out this has stopped. Im just wondering why this is cus I cant see why it would fix the needle problem.

Flickering rev needle = low battery
worth charging before the big freeze next week

That what I first thought it was, but the battery is fine and it just seems strange that since replacing the cat, it hasnt flickered at all.

    earthing/connection issue maybe?,..
my battery used to do it before it died,... needles would judder for a few secs then return to normal
would half turn over then nothing
I'd have to disconnect the battery and reconnect after a few secs all would be good for a while,..

try smearing Vaseline/petroleum jelly between the battery clamps and the terminals to increase conductivity Smile

Well its fine now, will see how long it lasts. Pug said the battery is fine when I asked them to run a few diagnostics on my car 2 months ago. The needles flickered when it was hotter weather than this too. But alls fine so we will have to see. Car is running really good right now.

No one on this forum would help me so I paid Pug £700.80 to fix it for me, but whilst I was there I got a rear windscreen wiper which was £18, and also some other bits. Grand total was £1500.80 but I could not afford it so took out a loan for £2k (2.5k with interest) and I have to pay monthly and with my left over money I bought a trench coat, which I now think is the wrong size and i cant return it.

    Lmao...
You could easily spend 2k on some door seals and injector seals tbh the way the parts prices are going

This is a bit more like the way the forum was when I joined it.

I did actually laugh out loud at a couple of the stories on this thread. Brilliant.
