Hav you been topping it up with water at all? The antifreeze must be diluted some what.As you say water expands when it freezes but it also expands a bit more when it thaws. Hopefully it will be ok but I don't know how you would warm it up gently appart from putting it inside a garage or something and leave it to thaw at its own pace. ________________________________________ 1997 blaze GTI-6 bought january '11 £800 Spend to date on parts £827.88 |

it had a a bit of a water leak doqn to a damaged gasket on the thermostat housing so i replaced that flushed the system bled it off n put 50/50 antifreeze/water i was thinkin about lockin it in the garage unclipping as many hoses as possible and whacking the heater on n let it thaw out for a few hours u think that may work ?________________________________________ 97 1.6 xs gti6 conversion![]() 99 black rallye ( low miles and immaculate ![]() new owner of a 2001 diablo red hdi mile muncher ![]() 99 red rallye turbo sold then died ![]() 00 moonstone 1.9d (slow) |

I would just be very cautious and not let it thaw too quickely. As above, it should never have froze. 50/50 should protect to at least -26________________________________________ 1997 blaze GTI-6 bought january '11 £800 Spend to date on parts £827.88 |

Depends if it was pre-mixed or not....Certainly I would not try and start it, just wait a few days for it to warm up, leave it facing the sun. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

if he leaves it for one morning though in the sun to defrost it then just plough a load of antifreeze in there that should do ![]() ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

If the cooling system is full though he will need to empty some of it to get the extra antifreeze in there. ![]() ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone ![]() |

It could still crack something though, much like pouring hot water on a frozen windscreen. |

i've done that for years and never cracked a windscreen btwmy brother who fitted windscreens said it was largely a myth and, unless it was an absolutely battered or stonechipped / overly repaired / cracked screen previously where moisture could get in, that was likely to never happen ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

Not on a screen that is anyway damaged though. Using hot water defrosts it too quickly which means it will crack, i never buy de-icer. ________________________________________ Pug fee`ver,Pick a Bogey, buy a Pug.
