I put the T5 in for a service a couple of days ago and I knew there were a few things wrong with it suspension wise but it seems there were a few other things that needed doing too. Major cambelt service, wheel hub assemblies, suspension arms, a few bits in the engine bay, a coil spring, CV gaitors, etc etc. Total (so far) is £1639 ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

It's on 109k which is when the first cambelt is due. It's a major one and I knew it had a few problems when I got it so it was fairly cheap. To be fair now I've spent what it would have cost to get a good example but I know I have brand new parts on it now. It obviously wasn't as much a bargain as I thought but there you go.edit: I will say that if you're looking at the V50, the suspension areas are quite prone to wearing out, especially bearings and wishbone bushes. adamb has a lot of knowledge on Volvo's if you need advice. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

davewagon wrote: V50 T5 right? Overall you think it's a good car? Yeah, you beat my edit on the post above. Yeah I love the car, it's brilliant as a fast car but it's nothing like the handling or steering feel of a 6. Feels really solid and is lovely to drive with loads of extras on it. 226bhp 2.5 turbo on it, same as the Focus ST. Also see my other thread in General about being run off the road, great braking system on it. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

A throttle body was £500+ on that one alone. A coil spring was something like £250 for a pair and so it goes on. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |
