I had a 97 306 XS, which i just sold to buy de S16.
Im really looking forward to bring it home, and my idea is to keep it as original as I can. It has 150k miles, but its in very good condition.
Well, nice to meet you guys

Hi folks! My name is Oscar, i live in Uruguay, South America, and this week im buying a 97 Aluminium Grey 306 S16 ( here is called S16 instead of GTI 6). There are only 2 GTI 6 here in my country, although 3 arrived to Uruguay, but 1 is prepared for Rally, so there are only 2 in the streets, and 1 of them is gonna be mine!!!I had a 97 306 XS, which i just sold to buy de S16. Im really looking forward to bring it home, and my idea is to keep it as original as I can. It has 150k miles, but its in very good condition. Well, nice to meet you guys |

Welcome along mate, seems like you're closer to having a stand-out car than any of us will ever be The S16 is actually slightly different, and some weird guys will be along shortly to argue about the ways in which it is different. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Welcome to the club! Yes, as Jeffers says the GTi-6 was called the S16 in other parts of the world so will be the same car. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Think it's more the case that S16 was called the Gti 6 in the UK. ________________________________________ Black X Reg PIII.VGTi 6 A4212 pt 1 A4212 pt 2 Searching the streets of Bristol for 1.36p/day.Joint Kent Leader |

Yeah but you're all wrong, it was indeed called an S16 but his is an import from the UK, so it's an actual S16 not a re-badged GTI-6, therefore I'm right?________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Based on his post, I'm not sure whether he has bought a UK import GTi-6 (which in his country is known as the S16) or whether he's actually bought a UK spec S16. It sounds like silver anyway, and I didn't think the S16 was available in silver, only Cossack Grey although I could be wrong. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Did you change the headlights or was it like that when you bought it? Just wondering if you'd started modifying it already.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Its still not mine, this week im signing the papers! And the headlights, as far as I know, are the originals, its a phase II, it has different bulbs for hi/low beams, but the policarbonate is "striped"? Not clear as the phase III. I checked at the "servicebox" page, and are the originals. |
