Actually it's blue/violet but you have to paint the sliding surfaces of the piston itself as well. It's because the lower wavelength associated with the colour blue means blue things absorb lower frequency vibrations naturally, so when you're going over rough ground the low frequency vibration of the car going over the bumps is absorbed naturally by the blue, which means the pistons have a greater internal energy so that when you press the brake pedal this energy can be released rapidly, reducing the response time of the brakes and massively improving performance.
