armzs16 wrote: Very true, I presumed lynx... And as you say it's meant to be a reliable conversion and on low boost we run standard compression at 250ish bhp. Lee also runs 270bhp on a custom map. 250 is the basic generic map set at a safe limit. I'm still somewhat tempted to do something like that with mine though. I start my new job in 2 weeks which is now within walking distance if needed and can work on my own cars there as well. Also have my hdi as main car anyway so if I blew up the 6 it wouldn't be the end of the world now. Just annoying lol. Lee? He is running 264bhp on base map with super high boost pipework and i/c iirc ![]() ________________________________________ 306 1.8 xs moonstone blue-SOLD306 gti6 supercharged china blue-SOLD 406 coupe D9 3.0 V6-SOLD |

marco gti6 wrote: @ eliotrw I don't think the lad is refering to Lynx when saying that a "certain company bla bla bla" Rich has alredy sold sc kits in Holland i remember a fella who had a LB 205 on the Dutch Pug forum. This lad however is all Turbo... as are lots of other Pug owners in the Netherlands. Dp engeneering being well known in the scene to the point where even you Fellas know it in England shows that they have good conversions. However the statement that struck me most was the one of the turbo'd 106 GTI makink well over 400 bhp wile being driven daily and abused on track. As said i will look to get in touch with him and see if he does live somewhat near me to go and see all the turbo'd pugs he is talking about. I will get my 6 charged next month and after reading that some LB conversions only made 240ish bhp (smegal, cosmicspanner) is somewhat worrying me as 250+ is really the minimum i am expecting from the conversion. Don't get me wrong, 250 bhp on a 6 must be awesome already, but i guess the 265 bhp figure is about the power you'll need to be in the same league as modern fast hothatches. British guy said it not the holland bloke. You dont need 265hp as a 6 is lighter and the megane only as 250 anyway ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I don't know how the new focus rs's are in the Uk, but around here there are a fair few local to me (7 to be precise in a radius of a mere 10km). None of them is standard, a good exhaust system, a larger inter cooler as the original one is supposed to be way to smal (same as the ones on the ford kuga) coped to a good remap will get them to the 350bhp. I don't believe a LB6 with let's say 260 bhp will keep up with one of them. Of course in the end it will come down to who is behind the wheel. However, i hope the 6 will do come spring ![]() |

Yeah, theres a fair few with 270hp kicking about though i think birks was 275 as he says, as well as mabz and ash's tooPlus i have a lynx headgasket for security :p and refreshed and skimmed head anyway so its likely its a good power maker. Its all about making sure everything is right, and that your exhaust is good enough etc etc. Then mapping it. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Smegals made 240 when it was running like a pig and the cambelt timing was slightly out... He then had this corrected and it went a lot better but wasn't proven. I now have his charger on my car and I've had off PLENTY of tuned 1.8turbo golfs, 260+ bhp Astra vxr's and even got a vid on my fb of me having a blat against a 3.0l twin turbo supra and just about beating it... (spoke to the guy afterwards at a car show and he said what the uck is in your car... And his was running 330bhp before anyone says he wasn't trying etc)Mine has a very low mileage bottom end with good compression a high flowing exhaust and a newly refurbed head. Will be rolling roaded in the new year. And Sam lee's is high boost 2.5' pipe work And large intercooler but didn't realise it was standard map? He said to me "proven about 270" at the last meet. ________________________________________ Black power baby! Armzs, what exhaust are you running with your LB setup? This is something i also need to look into as i have a standard exhaust system with cat, only the back box beiong a remus one. However i really don't want to have a car that makes way too much noise under the 4k rpm mark. Is yours way louder than a standard system? |

birk wrote: I had a massive inter cooler, 2.5" boost pipes, a 2.5" exhaust, no cat and a bored out restriction ring ![]() And how many times did it go bang? Haha. Admittedly from wrong plugs etc mostly from What I gather. Did you get a custom map o allow for the fiddled restrictor ring? My exhaust is stupidly loud I couldn't put up with it if it was a daily car. It's a powerflow near enough one piece from manifold back but the decat is very large I'm diameter at the top probably 3' tapered down to 2.5' at the centre box. The centre box is pretty small and is also slightly further back than the standard one sits so the decat is a little longer. The rear silencer is the same size as the centre with a 3.5' slash cut tailpipe. I havnt come acros a 6 with a louder exhaust than mine yet to be honest but it's not raspy at all sounds lovely just to loud. Though from what I hear stan's monster super high boost is louder than mine. (when there isn't a colony of mice residing in it in storage) ________________________________________ Black power baby! I don't know what your talking about lolAdmittedly it was down to the plugs really, but hein sight is a great thing aye. Rich had played around with the Ecu to match and raised the limit a tad aswell. ________________________________________ Dimma + Gt35 turbo =![]() Solid rear beam mounts £130 07889376885 Dan |

Boost is dropping off at higher RPM since the wastegate opens up. I could change to a higher rate actuator, but then i then wouldn't have the option to set the system on low boost. |
