Takes a full day. To be honest, I didn't like the "scaryness" of the GTi-6 cams and the lack of room for error, so I sent it to Pug1off to have them fit them for me... and a great hjob they've done too!JP ________________________________________ HDI Engine Tuning / Remapping Services - https://www.facebook.com/dervtech306 GTi-6 Track Car - 200+ hp all N/A! 306 DTurbo Track beasty - 209.9hp - RIP |

OK. So we're a step closer to getting it off for mapping. Got it running ok(ish) on the current mapping:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDCj5AnjXDI and sorted out the air filter setup. Just working on tuning the intake length a bit now with some longer trumpets and a 25mm spacer between the bodies and the manifold. Should help up the torque mid range... Thanks for looking, JP ________________________________________ HDI Engine Tuning / Remapping Services - https://www.facebook.com/dervtech306 GTi-6 Track Car - 200+ hp all N/A! 306 DTurbo Track beasty - 209.9hp - RIP |

Standard, bar a few choice upgrades eg arp rod bolts, blah blah. No vids as of yet, it's still sat on the dyno. I'll be telling Jenvey exactly what works so they can sell a kit, and chip wizards will do off the shelf mapping for this setup. Less than 1k will get you +40hp ________________________________________ HDI Engine Tuning / Remapping Services - https://www.facebook.com/dervtech306 GTi-6 Track Car - 200+ hp all N/A! 306 DTurbo Track beasty - 209.9hp - RIP |

Throttle bodies, manifold, linkages, filter, backplate, billet cams, arp rod bolts, choice upgrades?? All for under a grand?? Plus I'm sceptical of making over 200bhp with retarded cams and standard pistons________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

Yeah, you might be right actually. Plenty of people selling throttle bodies here for like 400-500, with linkages. Jenvey can then supply the right spacers and trumpets for a couple of hundred. Chip Wizards have agreed, these camps are £300. That should see you around the 190ish mark. Add cams, £400 and 210-215ish. So you are right, all in all say £1300 for this setup, less than a grand for my previous one. Arps etc not required, I just did it for peace of mind.... ________________________________________ HDI Engine Tuning / Remapping Services - https://www.facebook.com/dervtech306 GTi-6 Track Car - 200+ hp all N/A! 306 DTurbo Track beasty - 209.9hp - RIP |

You made it sound like a bolt on kit from jenvey rather than using second hand stuff. Fitting cams is also beyond most folks' capabilities too so having them fitted needs to be factored in. ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

Just got off the phone to Jenvey, they will be selling a package of the right bits to get the optimum intake lengths, and a package of the full bolt on kit. Obviously prices will differ. Clearly, there are other costs to be factored in. I'd just like to think that to some people this will be a cheap route to reasonable power.... ________________________________________ HDI Engine Tuning / Remapping Services - https://www.facebook.com/dervtech306 GTi-6 Track Car - 200+ hp all N/A! 306 DTurbo Track beasty - 209.9hp - RIP |

Chill out....As I said further above, you are right. A grand might be pushing it. Depends how smart you can shop. I paid £400 for the bodies, and about the same for the cams iirc. The mapping is £300. Jenvey helped me out with the bits for development time - I'm not far off. If you can get a set of bodies cheap, some second hand cams cheap, Jenvey will happily sell you all the spacers and trumpets for the right setup and chip wizards can send you the right mapping. I reckon, bodies £400, cams £200, Jenvey bits, £200ish and mapping £300... you'd certainly do it for £1100. If you bought everything new, you'd obviously end up paying about £1000 for bodies / trumpets / spacers etc, £400 for cams, and £300 for mapping... still £1700 isn't too bad. If you paid for all the fitting etc, you'd probably be around the £2k mark, all in. Avoiding the aftermarket management route certainly saves you around £1000 on the cost of the conversion. To be safe with anything other than very mild cams you need to be looking at pocketed pistons, thats a bottom end rebuild right there...________________________________________ Almost standard 1999 Bianca RallyeHilux InvincibleX daily 306 No.13 Carp and specialist Anglers Click here |

Jamma how is launch control possible on standard management didn't realise out ecu had this built in, though I know a lot of standard ecus do have the ability. would be interesting to see this mapped into a highboost!________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

The ECU is just a computer, it can be programmed to do anything.FYI, the Marelli ECU in the GTi-6 is neigh on identical to Marelli's £7k full motorsport ECU, just without some of the digital inputs / outputs.
