The only items who needs cleaning is the ICV (perhaps MAP and Air sensor) and the throttle body/manifold itselfThe way to clean them is to disassemble the manifold and throttle body and clean them with brake/carb cleaner |

The sensors don't really get "clogged" they're not sink plug holes. The only sensor which really gets anywhere near "clogged" is the lambda sensor as it can get quite sooted up depending on your AFR's. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

If your thermostat is stuck open (which it sounds like it is) then this will most likely be the cause of the poor fuel economy. The engine will be running cold and therefore it will be running rich to compensate. Fit a new one, I'm sure you'll see an improvement. The stat on these are set to open at 83C so the reading on the instrument panel should be around this figure when travelling after the warm up phase. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

boost wrote: ok cheers mate ill try pick one up today From experience I would suggest buying a Pug one. I bought a brand new one from a factors a few years back for £6 and it got stuck open VERY quickly and made my engine run at 70C. I went to Pug for a replacement and felt a bit ripped off at £18, however it's run faultlessly and is still being used in my current engine a few years on. Get what you pay for in my opinion. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It isn't a lot, especially when you consider it's probably the cause of your poor fuel economy. Therefore, by spending the £18 it'll soon pay for itself in the fuel that you'll be saving. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Give them a clean with a toothbrush type tool with brake cleaner as mentioned. Then use some WD40 in the plugs to gain a better electrical connection as well as resisting water, the same goes for all the engine bay plugs.________________________________________ Pug fee`ver,Pick a Bogey, buy a Pug.
