Well don't tell anyone I said this, but it's because they're all idiots. Ssssshhhhhh!

Not only is it actually possible to have the TDs balanced properly, but who wouldn't want their car to look like this?!

1.2's are more common than cyclones IIRC. How about Pro race 1? Lighter.

For a decent set they're not cheap, largely because finding them with the correct offset, width and bore is very difficult. Depends what you're after - if you just want a set to check on then keep an eye out, they come up second-hand every now and again, but expect to have to use spacers if you don't want to throw silly money at them.

Alternatively you see them as an investment, buy a new set for about £500 with the correct bore, diameter, width and 100% true. Yes it's more money, but first up you know they're not buckled and secondly if you look after them well (i.e. don't kerb them), then you'll get almost all your money back selling them second-hand anyway when you're done with them.

I don't, because I spent the extra on ones the right size. The problem is that most of them come in Ford fitment (purely because more people drive Fords than 306s), which is wrong for these cars so spacers are required to bodge them to fit.

When you order a set from someone like Demon Tweeks, you call them up and say "right, I want this wheel in this width, this centre bore and this offset". Costs a few quid more (and takes a while to have them delivered) but you basically end up with a pucker set of wheels, the colour you want, and no need for crappy spacers.

Oh, and you don't come along to have them balanced and have the wheel monkey inhale through his teeth and say "eh mate, these have kit a kerb or something, innit?"

Yeah heard it's been bought by developers now, annoying.

You can buy my wheels if you like? Two points of note:

    1) They'll cost you about £2500
    2) They come with a free car

I can't imagine either of the above putting anyone off.
