Nice work Matt, looking good. Loved the inflamed clitoris comment too, very apt. I've never really felt the love for the 206 though, it might be better built and a more modern drive than a 306 but doesn't look nearly as purposeful or well-proportioned. In particular the front reminds me of a cat with the vet's finger up its rectum, or maybe JSoulman's avatar of that bird with the thing in her mouth. Keep it up, your threads are always a good read. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

Found a pic of the Speedline/Compomotives on a 206. Got the cambelt and waterpump done today. Mark did it at work as its a pig of a job compared to a 6.Waterpump was f**ked and leaking, Aux belt was cracked and breaking up and the one tensioner was dodgy. He also had a good look round it prior to the ring trip in 8 weeks and found... PAS pump noisy from cold - f**ked N/S/F wheel bearing loads of play - f**ked oil leak on gearbox driveshaft seal - f**ked top engine mount torn in half - f**ked slight leak from expansion tank over flow pipe o ring - partially f**ked The rest of it was fine.... Busy few nites ahead... ________________________________________ 1999 Astor Grey GTi-6 OEM+ (now gone...)2004 Aegean Blue 206 GTi 180 (also gone...) 2006 Skoda Fabia vRS in Sprint Yellow honestly3k wrote: Do you wrestle for a living matt? Got the N/S driveshaft and hub off, renewed the driveshaft seal that had started p**sing out, Mark took the hub to work today to press the wheel bearing out and had to get the gas bottle on it to get it red hot before their 20 tonne press would shift the old one out Got the hub back on tonight, shaft back in, 2 litres of pug gear oil and refitted the front end after the engine mount f**k about we had. Also changed the front cam cover gasket as it was leaking like craig davids p**sbag. At least you can buy the cam cover gaskets for these unlike the 306! Got a monster clean underneath to do before I get the wheels back on, at least get it looking right before the MOT.... Probably fail on s**t loads now... MOT tomorrow.... Eeek! Then its being re-mapped as well. They are getting the ECU updated with the latest Pug software, then its having an MSD (Motorsports developments) Evolution remap flashed onto it. Not massive gains, probably 10bhp max but it'll smooth out a bit of the midrange as well. I'll update when I've got the car back. The wifes 206 hdi 110 is going in on Monday for a full DPF clean/re-gen then software update, dpf removal and performance re-map. That will end up having s**t loads more torque than my 180..... LOL! I may as well carry on talking to myself...So, MOT passed fine, no advisorys at all. The local independant Pug specialist did the software update on the ECU before it was remapped. That's now been done as well, and i'm very pleased with it. The midrange is the biggest improvement, quite noticable difference from 2k -4k rpm, not a huge difference, just smoother and with a tad more torque. Feels nicer to drive so thats the big benefit. Few more jobs to do before we go to Spa/Nurburgring in 5 weeks.
