Not at all, just trying to figure out what a real difference it makes. So i guess it would be good for those that have a heavy foot. For all we know the feel could be down to the quality of it due to most people buying the cheaper version, the 6's old cable felt fine for me, also it not over the engine.
My thoughts are is when a cable is turned and twisted like over the engine, it would give it more friction to pull the wire/cable than a cable being straighter. The wheel comment is like when you have smaller wheels which equals to less friction, which then makes it go slightly faster, thus shorter cable = less cable friction equals lighter feel.
I have two cables now so i'll try both long and short and report back.
Anyway > As for the price of the cable, its nearly 20 quid now, yet still has a few bits that dont fit as OE like the rubber mountings and metal fixing hook.
