Another vote for Halfords tools, I've never had a problem apart from snapping a 6mm allen bit socket once and they replaced it under guarantee. Thumbs up

Another +1 for halfords gear, I work on 20 ton engines all day everyday and the majority of my tools are halfords and I can't fault it at all, puts up with some real stick, and not too expensive. They are reasonable in replacing the odd item I have broken under the lifetime guarantee too!
*Edit* where you can get the professional stuff it's a lot better made IMO! Thumbs up

Ratchet spanners are always handy, if they con't come in the halfords set. And a 22/24mm ring spanner. And the right size hub/driveshaft nut socket.

Tbh, just buy a compressor and air tools, so much easier. LOL

Not inc the ramps and monthly garage unit rental, yeah Thumbs up

I've had a mix of halfords stuff and crescent for a few years. The halfords ratchets were better, but their allen/torx bits are rubbish. Bought Irwin 10mm socket torx bits and they've been good.

I've always stuck with a mix of Draper Expert and Snap-On, but for site work or home it's a mix of Stanley and Halfords gear. Can't fault any of it really, some of the chrome came off the Draper gear in razor sharp shards but that was the budget range not the expert stuff.

Halfords stuff is great for the money and easy to go and swap seeing as theres loads of halfords about.

Snapon is much nicer to use and just feels much more solid. Can be much more confident in it that your not going to snap a ratchet and smash your knuckles into that nasty, sharp bit of metal that always seems to be there!

I too use Halfords stuff. I have that full set of "Professional" bits that is always on offer and seems really good for the amateur.
