Well, what can I say..... Proper s**t week Thumbs down

Got the bmw wheel fixed, powdercoated and new tyre fitted, went to the pub for a pub lunch came out to find the self levelling suspension had decked the front bumper onto the curb which ended up with me destroying the bumper Sad on the way home being p**sed off about the bumper a ambulance forced me to move over and curb the freshly refurbed wheel.... Proper p**sed off!

Later on I went to work on the dimma, ball bearing in the ratchet handle is buggered and the socket fell off and chipped the front wing Sad then to make things worse I twatted the rear bumper into the rear quarter and put a huge chip in that too Sad

Laugh sorry I shouldn't laugh but that sounds like one of my Bad days!
I may have all the best intentions in the world but for some reason it all goes to pot!

Walk away take a breather and go back to it can the bumper not be plastic welded? and patched repainted? also I'm betting your mate that painted the car can sort the minor scuffs as with the Wheels the company that did them can sort it!

but I'd hang on for the paint jobs until your 99% there and make sure there's not more to patch by the end,
1st see if the bumper can be saved!

as said your nearly there!!! on an insane project I'd personally love to be able to undertake!

Keep at it Lad! Thumbs up Clapping

Can't beat getting touched up!!

It's not bad going really to get all that done and just have the few feck ups!

Always happens, I got my 6 all proper sorted then a couple of weeks later smashed the wheel and suspension.
Same with the St mondeo, spent well over a grand on brand new wheels and PS3 tyres then days later smashed one on a huge pothole.
Don't know why it happens, my dad got his dents sorted on his car then backed into somthing and smashed the boot in LOL
Not just you its just what seems to happen to everyone, drive a shed and nothing happens, and when it does you don't care!

Well.....
Nothing got done over the Christmas holiday due to me being sick for the majority off it Sad

This weekend coming is going to be a car related weekend so should hopefully get lots done as the weekend after the car is off to pro alloy Smile

Me and my mate need to finish the front bumper, try and make the boot lid fit a bit better which is going to require some trimming of the bottom edge and top edge so that it's straight (something nur didn't manage to do) it will then be lacquered and once that is done I need to bond the p4p rear screen in.

At the minute the rest of the Windows are glass and will remain that way until the car is finished to avoid them getting scratched.

I will then fit the bonnet so the engine bay and inside of the car won't get wet traveling to and from pro alloy as it's bound to be raining!

Fitted the water pipes which iv had for a while now so pro alloy will know where to put the inlet and out let for the rad.

I finally got round to getting my cooler for the charger, after talking to rich we decided on going for a 13 row cooler along with my 19 row engine oil cooler.

Hopefully the two coolers will sit between the intercooler and rad depending on how much room I have once the fans are fitted, I will have a chat with pro alloy and see what they say.
I'm thinking the best layout might be the fans being attatched with the aid of brackets to the front of the rad and the two oil coolers being attached to the back of the intercooler with the aid of brackets.

Anyway here are some pics.... And hopefully more to come after the weekend Smile

Sorry about the craps pics but my phone battery was nearly dead so wouldn't let me take a pic with the flash on

Looks so nice Yes

What strut brace is that you have installed?

Also how much roughly was your gearbox rebuild with the upgraded gears?

Thanks Smile

The strut brace is from France and was from a lhd but then got cut and re welded to fit a rhd!
The gear set was 900 iirc then the bill from miles was around 300 but that was including powdercoating the casing at £80

Thanks Thumbs up Not sure if i want to stick with the original pug box or just find a way to connect up a VAG O2M gearbox, guess it all depends how well the gearset works Yes

Will keep an eye out for a similar strut brace, looks good Thumbs up

Iv had that strut brace for about 7 years and never seen another like it, probably easier getting one made!
Regarding the gear set I would assume it would be cheaper to use them instead of the Labour and hassle trying to get a different box to fit and have the right ratios

Well we got some done this weekend but still haven't got the bumper done etc, it might be for the best anyway just in case pro alloy need to trim the inside of the bumper.

Boot lid has been trimmed so it now has straight edges instead of wavey edges, it's been painted gloss black inside and ceramic lacquered on the out side, fitted it and then bonded the p4p screen in Smile need to leave it now for the sealant to go off

Fitted the bonnet so the car is now water tight for the travel to and from pro alloy, still need to put the bonnet pins in the carbon Kevlar Stan panel once iv made some metal plates

All the panel gaps need sorting but for now it will do

Not sure what to do with the bonnet badge, keep it chrome, paint it black or try and get a carbon one?

Just don't want it to fall off so might try and bolt it as well as it doesn't have much material on the spoiler to bond it too
