Thanks, I can't wait either! Shame it's the wrong time of the year lol
Well I took the dummy shock out and it has come down to the perfect height Smile
The fronts are on the bump stops so they will need to be cut down.

you do realise if its on the stops then you need shorter dampers or a higher ride height, not to cut the stops right...

cutting the stops just leads to the damper twatting itself to bits internally.

Does the dimma just use normal standard topmounts but the chassis cut/drilled further out to accomodate the wide track?

Hmmm true, the stops are like 3" deep, can they not be shortened at all?

you'd be surprised how far they squish down with a decent bump.

It uses standard top mounts but sit in some McPherson adaptors that are bolted further outboard

They are the bump stops that come with the gaz golds, they are pretty tough rubber, I might raise the front 10mm and cut 30mm off the stops, if it bottoms out when driving I'll get stiffer springs

Do the McPherson adaptors basically make the topmount sit lower than they normally would then?

I was just thinking whether they would work with aftermarket topmounts, some essentially lower the car about an inch but don't need the ride height changing on the damper as the damper mounts higher up.

Ollie, speak to gaz about the stops. I know with the rears they have internal stops and the external are apparently just to act as extra spring rate as they reach the end of their travel.

Cheers Allan I'll give them a ring tomorrow!

I tried compbrake, d2 and baker bm top mounts but due to them.needing to be outboard the topmounts didn't sit correctly against the chassis due to the profile, that's why I went down the negative camber hub option instead

Problem solved, Just phoned gaz and they have said that I can remove 2" of the external bump stop with out the piston bottoming out Smile
I'll be raising the front by about 10mm so fingers crossed I will never use the full amount of travel before bottoming out

Wouldn't say there's a big rush now as it's almost winter. I've stopped doing stuff to mine till next year really. See if I can finally bother to save up for a diff and maybe get it caged.

The house is now finished and up for sale so I might actually get to work on the car Smile only thing is I'm still working away so will only be able to work on it on Saturdays Sad

I'm still not sure if I'm going to use pro alloy as I'm trying to save as much money as I can for a bigger deposit, as its crap weather now I'm in no rush to finish it but I still want it finished by February!

As today is very rare and the sun is out I pushed it out side for a few pics

It's a really weird paint, it's purple in the dark then goes to the blue above but when the sun really hits it it changes again and sparkles

For a camara phone the pics are good but don't do it any justice at all

That looks so awesome. f**k shows and meets, I would like to try and break the fwd lap record around the Nurburgring in it if that is ok? You should really box in all the fuel stuff too, make it eligible for racing
