Just trial fitted the old negative camber hub to see what clearance I will have.

The wheels are et20, I'm using a 20mm bolt on spacer and then added a 6mm spacer and this is the clearance I have

The lowest offset they make these wheels is et13 so hopefully if I get the next set made with et13, use the 20mm spacer and use 8" springs hopefully the wheel and tyre will clear the strut (fingers crossed)

It's a bit hard to tell but it appears that the wheel is still inside the arch so if it doesn't clear with the above solution I can always get some 23-25mm spacers made

Have you tried a Normal hub on there
Y not just run normal front hubs and adjustable top mounts
That way the top of the wheel is not close to the shock, wot size tyre am you Goin to run

Not as bad as you thought then Ollie?! A 7" spring may well give you the clearance you need if you end up going down that road.

The first pic (pass side) is a standard hub and the last pic (drivers side) is a neg hub with an extra 6mm spacer!

Due to the top mount being more outboard due to the wide track the profile of the chassis and adjustable top mount don't match up and I get big gaps between the 2, iv tries compbrake and D2 items, after talking to Dennis (Russian guy) it seems I will have that problem with his top mounts too Sad only way around it is to re-plate the strut top which means welding and now the car is painted its kind of a ball ache

Ill be using 225/40/18 tyres

Yes Allan its not as bad as I thought and will find away around it, just means iv got one set of wheels at et20 to use on the rear and a set with et13 (not that much of an issue I guess) I did ask for the first set to be et18 but somehow it got missed off the manufacture sheet... cant complain too much as they did me a good deal on the wheels

Had some spare time today so I mocked up the ecu location which will be either flocked, carbon fibre plate to cover it or an alloy box for it to slide into.
Then I mounted the oil filter relocation kit (need to make a stronger bracket)
Worked out where I was putting the oil catch tank

I keep playing with the fuel lines routing and think this is the how I like it

I then made carbon panels for the rear quarter panel holes and a panel to put on the inside of the boot to hide where the wiper motor sits

Found the flocked engine bay fusebox so can finally fit that

Doesn't feel like iv got anywhere with this for ages now bit a little up date and a small step forward I think....

On monday I phoned up and ordered my second set of wheels (this set is et13) to hopefully get more clearance from the spring

I also attempted to remove my brand new bearings from the old negative camber hubs which unfortunately resulted in a big fail and f**king up the bearing race so off I went to order yet another new set of bearings Sad
I then took the new negative camber hubs to the coaters!

Yesterday was a good day as my new skf bearings arrived later followed by my new wheels Smile
Built the hubs back up, fitted them, the brakes and wheels to the car and this is the final result

The clearance has increased but still unsure if the tyre will hit the spring

And one from inside the wheel

My mate is now on the case to see what deals he can get on tyres for me so fingers crossed I will have new tyres fitted and find out weather I need shorter springs by this time next week

I'm still waiting for my gearbox to be finished but should get that back with in a week then it's just the rear beam that needs assembling

Man that's still very close to the spring isn't it? You're going to have to use some spacers on there I think?
Can't wait to see it done Smile

I'm already using a 20mm spacer and et13 wheels, don't think I can come out anymore with out the wheel sticking out the arch!
It's about 8mm away so I do think that the tyre will catch Sad I'll just have to get shorter springs if they do

You need the tyre on to know for sure but from experience I'd say that's fine.

What length/lb springs are you running again??

Brakes look tiny in the new wheels!

9" 250lb, I'm just worried that the tyre will be wider than the wheel and might hit but like you say I won't be able to see until I fit some rubber!

I know they look tiny Sad need the 335mm kit that some members have really but will make do with these for now

It looks like the tyre might catch on the spring seat? But until the tyres on you won't really know Sad

The shocks don't have any locating tabs so not sure where the drop link tab on the shock is meant to be

Directly behind the strut when looking from wheel side.....i.e. 90degrees from straight-ahead iirc.

I think you may find though, that your adjuster knob will end up in a less favourable position...

Thing is, the ARB will still work but wont be nearly as efficient as not all the vertical movement of the drop link will convert into ARB displacement. In an ideal world, the link would be as near vertical as possible but thats not always possible.

Try rotating the whole assembly a bit and see if you get a better angle on the link...

Wouldn't mind having a gander at the car next time im down if you have a spare 5 mins....always looking for new ideas for the Skyline..Big grin .

Yep no worries mate, I positioned the shocks with the adjuster straight ahead as that's where others have positioned theirs!
I'll have a play later and see what the drop link is like once iv rotated the shock a bit Thumbs up

The tabs for drop links are not directly behind the shock ? They sit slightly off center towards the rear of the car

That's where they are at the mo.... I think it's just a weird angle due to the extra 40mm track

What pushes the lower arms out at the bottom by 40 mm? i know theres extensions on the Track rods and the top mounts are further bout but what about the bottom?

Ideally if everything on the whole suspension setup is 40mm further out then you need an anti roll bar 80mm longer in the middle?

The wishbones are 40mm longer each side!
Dimma didn't do an extended anti roll bar Dunno
I can't see it being an issue but if I find out it is when I beggin testing I guess I'll have to do something about it

That's what the originals mush have sat like as well then so shouldn't be that much of a problem if they didn't bother with a wider one from factory.

Bet wishbones are hard to come by then...
