Just noticed a link on the BRF to a video of the two stages for the coming weekends tarmac stage rally that I will be servicing on, out in Belgium Big grin

Thought I'd post up what proper rallying is like and will try and get some Pictures and video on the weekend, for now, here's a preview of the stages.

http://youtu.be/l4KAdh7LjUI

http://youtu.be/WCsWpURvdQY

bit boring, but you'll see links to other runs of the same rally but the stages are a little different.

Only two stages this year but done 4 times each afaik! in to service between each pair of stages, Kortermark I think they do two laps of.

The car I service for is a Phase1 Saxo VTS that has developed over the past few years into quite a quick little car, though personally I think there's still a lot more to come if the suspension was looked at, something like Colin Satchel has done would be ideal! (details are all on the Rallye register) buy Garry has spent a lot over the past few years and will probably be living in the cowshed if he spends more!

Bacis spec is;

97 saxo vts shell, Custom Cages full weld in cage with strut top triangulation double door bars exhaust tunnel brace and rear beam braces, home made sump and tank guards.

TU5J4 lump running standard head and crank, PEC rods and pistons catcams solid tappets and Cat 850's, Early set of Satchel GSXR bike body inlet, DTA ecu, TU5JP4 cam covers, Piper exhaust

(pic was before the cam covers were changed, found that the originals were very prone to oil surge and was filling the catch tank up, caused a DNF earlier this year by spewing the catch tank;s contents over a hot exhaust manifold!)

Transmission is a home brewed BE4 conversion, 5.1 FD and not a clue what actual ratios Garry used, but came from 4 different boxes, including a 207 GTI IIRC, Quaife diff, Citroen Sport Driveshafts (£500's worth! Shock ) I think flat at 8k it'll be doing 115-120.

Suspension is quite basic, AVO remote res inserts in modified original struts, polybushes, Citroen Sport torsion bars and Gaz Gold rears. (shudders...)

Braking is Wilwood 4 pots on 285mm discs, standard rears, bias valve, and Belgian spec handbrake.

Wheels are 1.9 205 Speedlines.

My job is basically check anything that Kev (pugtop) hasn't checked, make sure nothing has come loose or fallen off, swap wheels when needed, and eat chips and drink beer! Big grin

Sort of, they're tiny cans with fair sized tails, and one MASSIVE centre box right under the right rear passengers feet, its not quiet...

Its Garry's 3.2 24v Isuzu V6 powered Frontera, an epic tow vehicle, scary MPG, 205 bhp 213 lbft.

Hemicuda Smile

we've done ORC Canal rally, Sombreffe, Breine LeComte (same area as Ypres)

Last one was Rallye van staden, I haven't done the Monteberg with them but Garry did it last year, also the Haute Senne.
