1999 Peugeot 306 GTi-6

I’ll try and give as many details as I can on the various sections of the car to give you as much insight into whats been done in the 3 years I’ve owned it.

Engine – standard xu10j4rs GTi engine, rebuilt over last winter with new bearings throughout, new oil seals, genuine Pug headgasket & Bolts, new cambelt kit & water pump, clutch and release bearing. The engine assembly itself was subjected to a thorough detaling with zinc plated bolts and fixings, powdercoated engine brackets and new Peugeot engine and gearbox mounts. Has done only 500 miles since being refitted in the car and is still being run in. It has a Lynx solid alloy bottom pulley and has the rallye aux belt tensioners and new gen pug aux belt also. Radiator is a Nissens alloy rad, which has done less than 4000 miles on the car. New gen pug bottom and top hoses and clips. A/c removed, both gti twin fans present and working correctly. K & N 57i induction kit – with correct inner wing support bracket also. Gearbox was detailed and fitted with new clutch arm bushes and drain plug. New gen pug driveshaft oil seals and pug gear oil used when refitted. Clutch cable replaced with new pug one at same time. Clutch is light and progressive as they should be. Genuine Pug battery fitted less than 6 months ago.

Suspension – Front.
Bilstein B8 Dampers fitted with Eibach 30mm lowering springs, new top mounts and bearings fitted, along with drop links and new wishbones with QH ball joints and P-Bushes. Xsara VTS Phase 1 (2.4 turns) steering rack with new boots and track rod ends, with GTi-6 steering ram swapped over. Fully detailed subframe and anti roll bar, all powder coated and painted. New Anti roll bar bushes and hub pinch bolts.
Rear – Fully rebuilt rear beam with full kit of gen pug bearings and seals used throughout, fitted with Xsara VTS 21mm torsion bars and lowered 20mm. Bilstein B6 rear dampers and new beam mounts fitted, along with the beam being detailed and restored to better than new condition. New anti-roll bar end plates and seals. Beam is as new, so no knocks, creaks etc etc.

Brakes – Front
Brembo 406 v6 4pot calipers, freshly fitted and refurbed with new seals, powdercoated red with new bleed nipples and new Pug 406 v6 pads. Tarox 44 groove Xantia V6 discs with the correct 288mm diameter. NO squealing on this kit. New braided brake lines and fresh fluid.
Rear – Tarox 44 groove gti-6 discs with powdercoated yokes, and new brake flexi’s and genuine pug hard line brake pipes from caliper to under the car. New pug back plates and new pug pads. Calipers are both free and work 100% with an excellent handbrake also.

Wheels / Tyres – Compomotive VLM 1670 alloys, made especially for me for this car, ET15, 7x16” with 195/45/16 VR rated Yokohama S-Drive tyres all round, with 6mm tread on all tyres. Wheels are unmarked, never seen a curb and are as new.
Body – Standard bodywork, finished in Astor Grey Pearl metallic, is washed every week regardless with the two bucket method and washmitt, never seen a car wash, paintwork is immaculate with no swirls or noticeable scratches anywhere. Yellow fogs in the front bumper, custom front badge, standard rears. Has a HID kit fitted – a sensible lowish power one, still has correct beam pattern and passed 2 mot’s with them in.
Interior - Standard GTi-6 leather/alcantara trim, GTi-6 tailored floor mats and boot mat, in immaculate condition throughout. Standard Clarion stereo with boot mounted 6 disc cd changer and steering column stalk – all working. Has got a snap off steering wheel (suede) with correct Momo air-bag boss kit. Has a rallye top glovebox fitted also for extra storage. New Gen pug leather gearknob fitted. All electrics work fine, door looms are fine, windows and remote deadlocking work spot on. Two keys and key code / security card from new.

Other – has undergone substantial improvement and restoration over the last 2 years, with the engine bay and brakes being done very recently. There has been so much done to the car its impossible to list in one sitting, id advise a thorough read of my project thread to get the full idea of what works been done.
Mileage – car is showing 105k miles, suspension has done less than a 1500 miles, engine about 500 miles and the brakes less than 200 miles, so most of it is almost new.
Car has done about 3k miles since ive had it, and im the 4th owner.
MOT till June 2013, tax till end November 2012
History – Has all bills and MOT’s and service history from day one, and everything ive done is documented on here in intricate detail.
Car is HPI clear, and my private plate will come off when a deposit is taken.

Genuine reason for sale, it’s a little used third car in the Evans household, and I’m looking to replace it with something larger for the two kids in the back, hence an Octavia Vrs will be hunted out if and when the Pug goes.

Im looking for £3500 for the car or very near offers as I suspect its one of the cleanest 306 GTi-6’s ive seen for a while, and with all the modifications that people want, in the best colour!!!

Ive attached a link to my resto thread below.

And some pics to highlight key points..

Yes mate, he works at Elim Peugeot. Have not seen the car in the flesh but Im told it is very very clean despite the high millage (140k) According to the parts boys, the owner has fitted a load o new gen pug parts such as exhaust, suspension components etc..He's dropped the price too, worth a look as your local.

140k is actually quite modist for a GTi6/Rallye but if that mileage bothers you that much, then you'll either have to go further-a-field or wait for a 'low miler' to pop up near by...!

Sorry to bring this back but does anyone know where this car is now?

Just wondering is it's still in great shape after all the great work done on it.

No idea where it is now but a couple of years ago another previous club member from Kent bought it and had nothing but problems. Badly bodged exhaust, pretty well fell off, knackered driveshaft, Aor bag wiring under the seats cut and left bare and then got me to look at why the head / cams was making a horrible rumble and I found the cam belt was flapping in the breeze. I then did the cam belt and water pump for him and he kept it for a while then sold it on for something more practical.

This car was in Swansea for a couple of weeks, then the guy sold it. It looks like its been well abused - has yellow/green wheels on it too.

Last time I checked, it had issues with the central locking and the body looked battered.

LOL a lot can happen after three years. Perhaps Matt bodged it all those years ago.

It's mine! Still in excellent shape, definitely being looked after but it's not a garage queen, I do about 15k a year in it. Now approaching 140k. Alternator went and a few other minor bits but otherwise been very reliable.
