Hi chaps, I've a question for you all.

We're developing a fuel injection package and are having a few problems with throttle response.

If the linkage is as it would be standard, we get full WOT, but you can't blip the throttle for shifting, there is a big dead spot.

We can change the linkage so that it gets 75% throttle, this let's up blip the throttle.

So, we have the linkage which is working the dta tps. In my mind, I should be able to tell the software that the 75% position is WOT and set the fueling accordingly.

Does that make sense or am I missing something?

Are you using the drive by wire, or the standard throttle body?

what is it?

All you do is set the tps position so it works fine, then tell the ecu that you have it at off and to use that voltage value, then stick it on WOT and log that voltage value, 3/4 between those will be 75% throttle.

simples Dunno

I agree with Meirion, can't really see the issue unless we're missing something simple? Dunno

Is the drive to the throttle pot sloppy? Does it go from zero to maximum correctly?

Sorry, this has probably made me sound a little thick.

I'm trying to suggest a cure for the problem, but keep being told "the mappers know what they're doing", so I'm left thinking, well, why the f**k haven't they sorted this issue.

Basically, you've confirmed that what I thought was correct. It was more a question to see if it was doable, I know next to nothing about mapping etc My knowledge is more carb based

My Dta needed a linear pot to be installed in place of the tps rather than the one and off or less sensitive pot on my 8v 205 gti turbo. Like meirion says you set it to zero and measure the voltage through the rev range and the Dta does the rest. Couple of flat out and off calibration runs of the throttle allows the Dta to be set up correctly.

Just to point out, this isn't on a pug. The tps is setup to work with original linkage as it would have worked with the carbs
