Can somebody recomend me a good standalone ecu. lm sick and tired trying to remap my MP3-2 ecu. Was on the dyno yesterday for remap nr.2. Everything looked ok on the rollers, but this morning the cold start was way to rich. Did run the engine warm, taked all the plugs out and cleaned them. Then l replaced them and drived 3-4 km and took them out and they had started to be black again. |

Dta But depends what your mapper preffers, cold start is slways a little tricky unless you have done several engine builds along the same kind of spec. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Another vote for DTA, although I'm biased as I run one. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Never had any issues with the DTA units, but as Welsh says, coldstarts take quite a bit of time to fine tune usually.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Plus the DTA is so easy to use and you get more accurate results from it. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I've used KMS MP25 on MI16 engines, not that expensive and works really good. |

DTA for me too, had an S60, now got an S80. Software is dead intuitive, you could literally work it out just by messing about with it for a while. I didn't find the Omex software as good, but have used their ecu's before with no issues. There is a DTA forum too with some knowledgeable people on it which also helps! And yeah, cold start is a pain, even more so with big throttle bodies as air speed is so low on cranking, and then as soon as the engine has run, even if its just for a few seconds then you can't do it again for a good hour or so. I used to start mine, check plugs, alter map and then come back a few hours later and try it again, took ages to get it right. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

My coldstart isn't perfect, but it's pretty good and I'm happy with it. Just takes a few more cranks than normal to fire and then runs sweet.________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Mine would be a bugger to start unless I pressed the throttle a bit, as soon as it fired it was away but starting from cold with a closed throttle just wouldn't happen. (I was on Omex but that's a symptom of mapping not the ecu)________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. I can start mine from cold with the throttle closed, but it just takes a few more cranks than it did when it was standard. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
