You could end up running the oil too cold, which is pretty much as bad as running it too hot. The touring cars run them because they run thin oil to reduce transmission losses, so need to keep it from getting too hot. In reality, you'd just run a slightly thicker oil and accept the additional 2whp you'll lose. If you want toys I'd run an electric variable speed digital coolant pump that can alter your engines heat up and cool down time by not pumping at all, or carrying on pumping after the engine is cooled off. This would help get your oil temp up quicker, reducing wear on the engine and help it cool down quicker once the engines turned off. You'd also remove the impellor from the coolant pump so there'd be less load on the engine, freeing up a few bhp. Although there'd be slightly more load on the alternator, which may just steal those bhp back again... ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

however using this system you can spay lubricate the diff also instead of splash lube which i think is another one of its plus point imo.________________________________________ |

The diff sits in a pool of oil so I don't see how spray lubrication would be any better? To convert the box to spray lubrication would be quite difficult too. When you said oil cooling I figured you just meant tapping the box to fit some take offs and pumping the oil through the cooler then back into the box. I really don't think there is any need!________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |
