Don't. Just don't. Radweld clogs everything up, it wouldn't be worth it as you will have to replace pipes when it's all clogged and starts cooking itself as it slows the stem of flow

ive tried rad weld years ago to try and fix matrix but it didnt work, however you can buy stuff

called K seal, i know someone who had a BMW 520 with a blown head gasket and it worked!

Not a permanent or ideal fix imo

but for how long? plus you'll have more than a matrix to change. That stuff is more hassle than what its worth

if your leaking water to the inside of the car you could just bypass the matrix for time being, least

that way you can still use the car until you decide to pull the dash out

It can work, I used some ceramic seal in a Xsara I got for my Dad to round around in, Not worth changing the Matrix in that 8 months down the line all is good

IMO I wouldn't bypass the matrix, it won't get the cooling it needs and can cause some major heating issues. The cooling system needs the matrix there to get a full cycle and effectively cool the engine. You bipass one part of it and it losses it's effectiveness and can lead to extremely hot engine and cooked head

My advice, don't use rad weld...

As said it will cause more damage in the long run even if it solves your current problem. Yes
Just change the matrix and all will be well. Thumbs up

bo***cks im afraid, if you dont use the heat for warming the air in the cabin it will not be any cooler as it returns to the thermostat housing, it will not cook your engine.

True dat, it's only the same as setting your air fully to cold. You're right in that you *can* use your matrix as a heat dump if the engine started to get warm, but not having a matrix will be fine.

    Until winter, when you'll die.

Yeah, have fun scraping ice off the inside of your windscreen in the winter! The matrix went in my first car, 1.4 306. Absolute nightmare in the winter...get it fixed Smile

Where did you get this information from?! Dunno

In the early days, heating in a car used to be an optional extra when you purchased the vehicle. Yes

What happened to all those people who chose to go without, did their engines all boil themselves? LOL
