Anybody got a digital radio headunit or dash inserty thingybob?! Looking at getting one for the A3 as it doesnt find much radio signal which is really annoying. Any particular brands i should be looking at or avoiding? Or is it best to go to a stealers and see what the options are? Aaah, cheers for that. The first a3 we had (same age) had one of those shark fin aerials but this one doesnt. I have to manually retune the radio every couple of miles which is annoying! ________________________________________ keep the machinery between the greeneryR766JKV nile blue gti6 - sold ![]() V634DLR black gti6 - sold Now driving a skoda furby vrs - for sale Currently piloting an Audi a3 sportback |

Have installed DAB head units several times at work and every one of them I've encountered is awful! They like to use DAB signal as much as possible but as soon as it gets weak there is a pause as it switches to FM... Then decides there's DAB signal again so swaps back... With a big pause... So annoying! Useless piece of s**te IMO.________________________________________ Black power baby! I thought it was pretty good when i had a hire car with it in as standard, every now and again it did pause for a second and then restart again when it found a better signal or whatever it did but i didn't find it too bad and I traveled the length of the country in it so I'd expect any normal radio to have done the same thing anyway when travelling so far. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

They may well have improved them since I fitted a few as it was a couple of years ago now but it was literally every 30seconds and that's in the middle of towns on bbc stations so should have plenty of signal.________________________________________ Black power baby! 6waysforward wrote: Fm is a better sound quality ( if tuned correctly ) than dab radio anyways. Sound quality is not the issue with FM radio, it's the fact that they predominantly broadcast absolute drivel over most stations - local stations and radio 1 in particular. DAB is good but I wouldn't put one in a car because of the patchy signal. CD's/MP3s etc ftw. ________________________________________ ![]() You feed beefburgers to swans. ![]() I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |
