Then I checked the membership section and realised you don't have to have paid for membership to advertsise vehicles.
Do people believe this should remain so?

I saw we had a new member join advertising a car. I noticed no Gold whatsit next to the username and pondered how they were able to have advertsied a car without paying. Then I checked the membership section and realised you don't have to have paid for membership to advertsise vehicles. I suppose it could work both ways, if no then are we going to miss out on sum bargains? Then again a £5 membership to advertise a car on a forum that specialises in these cars is a good deal. ________________________________________ cherry p1.....SOLD (regreting this)blaze p2.....why did i buy this SOLD Black p3 |

Given that it doesn't happen very often, and its not as if those who have paid are suffering at the hands of these adverts, I think it should stay.If I had GTi-6, or a Cosworth or a Caterham for sale, I would want to target those enthusiats. Similarly, If I wanted one of those cars, I would probably look on a specialist forum to find one for sale. Win Win. Until such time is its hurting paid members sales, I see no harm ________________________________________ Rallye-RNurburgring article |

I think it's fine as long as it's a 6/rallye. It would be good to keep these cars in the club.________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

And if they post a phone number there's a very real risk Soulman will get wasted and phone them, I'd say that £5 to negate that risk is peanuts. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

There's an email button on all classified adverts, along with the PM button for contacting paid members, plus contact details can be included in the description if required.Non-paid members can post classified adverts because it was felt that, on balance, it's beneficial to allow one classified advert for non-paid members as people are likely to want to offer these cars for sale on enthusiast forums which is ultimately a benefit to the club as a whole. ________________________________________ Rich |
