Well ive had the 6 since feb and have ploughed quite abit into it allready didnt help that a learner stoved in the side of it within 1 week of buying it!
It still handles like a pig and ive yet to experience that quality 6 driving experience from this one. im fed up of spending on it and all i hear from the mrs is "this was supposed to be a cheap runaroundThumbs down "

Is there many of you in leicester? If someone wouldnt giving me a run out in a sorted handling 6 i think might help get me inspired again. I dont want to give up on it but its crap to drive

best money to be spent on a gti/rallye, should be on suspension!

think i've spent around £1000 on my rallye, and the transformation is epic Thumbs up

**edit**
thinking about it, it's more around £1300 i've spent on the suspension Whistle

it's a pointless task imho, if you only refresh only the front or the rear suspension.

on a budget, i'd go for

b4s approx £115 for 2
eibachs approx £105 for 2
rich_w rollerbearings approx £220
balljoints 16mm or 18mm? approx £?
metal droplinks approx £25 for 2
strut top kit and rest plates genuine parts approx £120 the lot
healthy rear axle with good history £? (no history or worn, see my for sale posts)
lemforder mounts for rear axle £? as above
vts bars aprox £80

the above is what i did to my first ever gti6, and i was very happy. but with my rallye, i've gone for something a little more special

b6's are better Smile

Basically for a new feeling front end you need

Droplinks
Track rod ends
Shocks
Springs
bumpstops
shock protector jobbies if you want them
Topmounts
wishbone bushes
ball joints

im not sure i would bother with the metal droplinks though, they bend and the plastic ones are better.

Unless we are talking rose jointed

I just have fresh suspension, a 25 rear arb and lowered 40 on the front and 35 on the back. Ran a 56 sec run up prescott hill which is better than a lot more sorted cars. My point being, you dont need to spend loads to make them a cracking capable car. Smile
