Just testing the water here. I have had a quote to have rear quarter and door sprayed. No dents or rust, just needs some decent prep and then spray.
Anyone else had some work done with an idea of how much a decent job would cost

Fraid not, just had the door and quarter painted on the rallye, looks sweet.Another scenario- Doctor "because you have broke your right arm we are going to have to put them both in cast" Patient "why" Doctor " just because that's how the 306 forum says its should be done, I had mine done as a previous repair I wasn't happy with, door and quarter cost me £300, as long as who ever paints it is good at there job and can blend it will be fine. carl ________________________________________ C.G.Cars of Leicester, Peugeot/Citroen/Renault specialist Tel: 01162 624498/07799 405184 WWW.CGCARSLEICESTER.CO.UK36 narborough road south, Leicester LE3 2fn MOT station now open, tests £35 with a free retest. As Carl said you should be able to get a tidy job done for around 300.and like most things in life you get what you pay for when it comes to bodywork/spraying so don't be tight! :thumbdup |

Yeah thanks for the replies guys I was just checking prices as the guy who is doing it i have known for years. He is a s**t hot sprayer,he did all three of my bikes,Just wanted to see if what he quoted me was about right As for getting the whole side done, the wing is fine, its just the door is off another car that had a vinyl strip down the back edge of window which has been removed and the paint line flatted down and the rear quarter has quite a long scratch along it |

I'm not saying you can't have a really good job done but in my opinion you will still be able to tell. Every car I've ever seen you can put it that way. It'll look tidy blended in but if you are fussy like me it'll still bother you a few months down the line that it still isn't perfect.________________________________________ Ryan |

It all depends on the type of paint used and the age of the car and how well kept the cars paint is I.E you wouldn't match a pearl/metallic as well on 2 panels as you would with a solid colour than has say been waxed most months of its life and still has its original look£300-500 depending on the job We just charged £2800 to paint this but i've taken 2 days with 2000 grit and a machine polisher getting a perfect mirror finish as the guy asked for a 100% mint job (before anyone says the rear hasn't been done in that pic) ________________________________________ All South Wales Members Click HereTeam Supercharged Black RALLYE ™ (Click Here for Build Project) MY EBAY ITEMS 07943066306 |

Only asking as I've been looking at getting a small comp. & spray gun to do a bumper/wheels and such like but all the paint suppliers say 2pack/cellulose is illegal unless for classic or 'industrial' use, so quite confused. Almost definitely wouldn't look to use 2-pack purely for the health reasons even though it seems the best paint to use but I don't want to have to buy a air fed face mask just to do a few small bits etc. |
