A friend of mine is in need of a 205 GTI 1.6 gearbox and drive shafts. Not sure if there is any difference between the 1.6 and the 1.9 but thats what he has asked for

Got 2 205 GTis here in bits.

Is it a BE1 or BE3 box he's after?

Got a pair of 1.6 shafts. The 1.6 box I have is the earlier BE1 box.

    Not sure he just said 1.6 205 Gti Gear Box Think its a BE3 box he is after. Whats the difference?

    Its the none lift up reverse then.

    Are there any difference between the 1.6 and 1.9 box and the 1.6 and 1.9 shafts? as far as shafts go if i remember right the splines on the hud end are different.

    Do the 205 shafts fit into a 5 speed xsara vts box?

    The 1.6 and 1.9 boxes have different ratios.

    I have a 1.6 BE1 box, and a 1.9 BE3 box with a damaged casing. I could swap the levers and reverse mech over, but is more effort than it's worth so pop a wanted on the drivers forum.

    For a VTS box with 205 shafts you need the end half of a 6/Xsara shaft to go in the diff.
