well after just over a year of owning this car I thought it was time I made a project thread.

here's the car when I first picked her up

after a good polish

Then some twat left his handbrake off and let his trasit roll into the car, cracking the bumper, hockey trim and light, so a front end respray was the order.

I then picked up some 1.2s from a guy in town, fitted with 45 profiles. Sold these tyres and put my hankooks on

Then the stripping began Roll eyes

out came the rear seats spare wheel and fronts to be swapped with these from Lost4words on here.

then came the rallye blanks Cool

and then black masks which I made myself using brand new depos.

Then i fitted a deep dish suede wheel from Mcgill's motorsport in Fife

A cheeky offer on Ebay saw me with these for the pricely sum of 60 quid

A trip down to leeds and i had my hands on some shiny shiny Big grin

Mr pellowe gave me a hand to fit them, and a full service at the same time

I got a matte black bonnet for cheap, but wasn't sure so kept the china one

The cobra seats were good but i felt i needed a little more support, so bought these

I adapted the base mounted subframes and removed the sliders so they were fixed.

Thanks to t400 pug i received these in the post Smile

fitted;

plenty of camber Thumbs up

i then swapped my rear beam with jsa666 from edinburgh, which had been recently lowered, and fitted 21mm bars at the same time

i then sourced a safety devices cage

a friend from edinburgh fitted it for me

Then i took a trip to stanley to see eddy, which saw me come away with a decat, straight thru and scorpion exhaust, and poly windows

I then fabricated aluminium door cards, got rid of all the gubbins inside the doors and got them fitted

And that's as far as I've got! full spec as follows:

-Pro race 1.2 15" with hankook ventus primes
-Welly's wilwood kit
-EBC greenstuff pads, standard discs
-Goodridge braided hoses
-richw roller bearing wishbone bushes
-Philipm lower strut brace
-OMP upper strut brace
-kw v2 innox
-spoox camber/ castor top mounts
-solid rear beam mounts
-21mm torsion bars
-safety devices 6 point roll cage
-sparco evo seats
-Luke 6 points
-polcarb windows

The seats were 350 I think including a pair of ears harnesses which I sold for 80. I also sold my cobras for £100 so they only owe me 170.

Am I the only one getting dizzy by them wipers LOL very nice mate
Struggling to watch them on this s**te connection

On another note, I attempted to buy that same phone holder you had, ended up with one that is for sticking to the window (not a suction pad)
Waste of £15 never could find that one you had

time for a quick update. Two trackdays have been and the car has been flawless, however Edinburgh's cart tracks have taken their toll on my poor suspension so I've been replacing various bearings, starting off with complete front and rears for my richW bushes, and top mount bearings for my spoox adjustable topmounts.

I'll hopefully be on track sunday so jobs to do before then are;
-Oil/oil filter/fuel filter change
-Replace wishbone bearings
-replace top mount bearings
-fit rallye aux kit

I also made purchase of a new set of wheels for the road

and got my hands on a set of Yokohama A048s. I drove with these on the road for a bit, what a difference, I can only look forward to when they have some heat in them on track. I think my current suspension set up is a bit harsh for road though, things seem to wear pretty quickly whilst I was running the yokos ( lemfoerder balljoints only lasting 1500 miles)

The plan is to keep the 1.2s for track, and run crappy road tyres on the speedlines as a daily wheel.
This might be a bit overkill but I suppose you can never bee too safe. I bought and fitted a second hand lifeline plumbed in system, hopefully I'll never need it.

I also managed to pick up a mint BMC cda. I'm not sure how I', going to run it yet but I'll probably leave it until I relocate my battery

Lastly, I managed to smarten up my rear a little with a tidy badge from a phase 2,
but counteracted that by pulling my driver's side door handle off. d'oh. if anyone has a china door handle let me know!

Sad
Ed

Not very impressed with the Lemforder balljoints myself truth be told. On my standard HDi one of them is knocking in less than 3000 miles. I've had boggo GSF ones last 10x that mileage.

Hmm that's interesting, do you have a preferred brand other than OE then?

Speedlines are nice Ed, any reason you went with P6000s, or is that just what you had to swap over?

No, not by choice! I rarely get a chance to drive fast and with my suspension settings I prefer to run cheap s**te tyres around town so wear isn't an issue. So i have 2 hankooks, a p6000 and an admiral...Thumbs up I had the p6000 on my spare, admiral was free from a friend and the hankooks came with the car.
